Hi, I came here because I want to educate myself further about Communism and the Left in general. I would like to call myself a communist but frankly I don't think I know enough about the various ideologies to say it outright. I am 18 and from the UK, but currently living in Brisbane, Australia. I come from a very middle class family, and attended a public (private) school. I hated it - the people, the culture, all of it is so wrong. I dropped out when I was 17 because of existential depression. The world we live in sucks and unless it is changed I will live in it no more.
I am very much removed from society as a result of my depression. I isolated myself completely for a very long time and I have a very different perspective on the world to my 'peers'. I am very introspective (compulsively) and don't allow myself to be swayed by others. I will follow my values at the expense of having few friends, little money (I really couldn't give a flying fudge about money), and anything else that might masquerade as being important in this mercenary world. I value above everything else equality. I hate to see racism and sexism, homophobia, and every other form of discrimination that is so prevalent today.
I want to learn, and be a part of remedying the world, and if it should take my life I couldn't be prouder.
