Greetings all!
My name is Dave and I am from the Kern County area of California. If you know anything about this area then you can guess that it is quite lonely here.
I am a Marxist (in some ways I am post-Marxist as well). I was first introduced to Marxism through the newspaper of the Socialist Labor Party which was a DeLeonist tendency organization which met in my hometown as a kid. I have also looked at other tendencies and orientations such as CPUSA, PLP, RCP, SPUSA, World Socialist Movement, and some of the Trotsky (4th International) groups such as Socialist Action. I've also looked outside the box at some of the libertarian communist groups, the anarchist groups, the Green-Red Synthesis, and Zeitgeist Movement. I will not lie and claim to be an "expert" in any one of these. I'm currently plugged into the Peace and Freedom Party which is a multi-tendency socialist party here in California (I think we need new bridge-building efforts among factions and a new synthesis for the 21st Century to move forward - and perhaps the shedding of some old labels and terms.)
