Brand new band here. I bought their new CD "Youth and Young Manhood" about a week ago. You can't really judge it right at first, because it's such a novelty. The only way I can think of to describe their music is "cowboy blues with a hint of punk".

The first few days you'll be overwhelmed and think they're the best band ever because they sound so unique, but after that wears off you'll discover that they aren't the super good/cool band you thought they were(They're still pretty cool, but not as cool as I thought they were when I first heard them). Nevertheless, I think everyone should check them out.

Priority for downloading:

#1: Molly's Chambers
#2: Holy Roller Novocaine
#3: California Waiting
#4: Red Morning Light
#5: Happy Alone

They're good, but not great. They're another band in a string of critics' darlings, who have good but homogenous debut albums - The Strokes, The Thrills, The Darkness, The Flaming Lips etc.

After a long long conversation in a dark park in an illegal state of mind, I decided that Kings Of Leon are better than Vishnu (the god), but less good than purple (the colour). Hence:
bad stuff <Nazism------Cops-----Vishnu----------Kings Of Leon------Purple---------Jack Kerouac----Trancendence into Plato's world of ideas> good stuff

I hope this has been enlightening

Flaming Lips?

They were no critics darlings when they debuted in 1985, and they realesed 9 albums before they became critics darlings with The Soft Bulletin.

the Kings of Leon album I though was fantastic for a week or two, but I got bored of it very quickly. I also think they might be inbred
