The ususal way of setting up a question with the command 'discuss' after it is to make a statement. You discuss statements, but answer question. You shoud have followed your question with 'answer'.
And then the answer might be 'yes' (as in, 'yes, Stalin helped or hindered the Popular Front in the Spanish Civil War').
I would suggest changing the title of the thread to one of the following options:
1-'Stalin hindered the Popular Front in the Spanish Civil War more than he helped it';
2-'Stalin helped the Popular Front in the Spanish Civil War more than he hindered it'.
Either of these could be followed by 'discuss'.
Then get ready for arguments about why 'the Spanish Civil War' is a misnomer (Stalin wasn't Spanish, so it must have involved more than just different factions inside Spain fighting over control of the state) and a huge debate on whether or not the Popular Front (as it was the successor of the Republican government that only a few years earlier was massacring Asturian miners) might not have been worth supporting anyway.

This thread should probably be moved to History.

Troll, and a rather obvious one at that:
1) New member, no introduction -- check
2) Chooses controversial topic, where people are divided almost entirely along tendency-lines -- check
3) No personal input or clarifications -- check
