The Underground started in April 2007 as a physical, printed newspaper by five friends who met via revleft.com and who went on to live in various squats together in London, England.

This very quickly ground to halt and after a failed merger with another Anarchist publication all work on The Underground stopped.

December 2012 sees The Underground revived in an online format and though the original members are not all participating it is hoped that this time around it will find success.

The Underground noes not aim to be a strictly Anarchist or Communist publication but rather left-wing in general. Contributers may be from any part of the libertarian left.

This site has only just started today so it's pretty empty at the moment though any contributors are welcome to submit to me via revleft, feedback and comments on the site are strongly encouraged. I know this kind of thing has been attempted before on more than one occasion but I'm confident this time it will survive!

Thanks guys. There's plenty of humour included and it's being constantly updated.

Appreciate the support.

First week is almost over, we have posted 26 articles/posts in 18 different categories and we've had 84 views!
Two other members of RevLeft have shown a strong interest and are in the process of writing something and contributing.

We are still looking for more people to contribute articles or if willing join the team and help push the publication further, sense of humour is a must!

A thanks to those who have read our posts and an extra thanks to those who liked and posted replies.

This sounds pretty interesting, I think I have a few pieces I could dig up and contribute. If not I guess I'll just have to start writing new ones. Anyway, I'm in :thumbup1:

Great to have you on board, we now have 4 or so people interested in contributing including Volkov who has written an article on the British left which is great to see.

We're getting some responses now (including a UKIPer) and lots of views.

It's not a group connected exclusively with the publication but at 'Commie Journalists' there is a thread which can be used for those interested to communicate with each other whether it's about articles or about how to make the publication better.

Sorry I still can't post the groups link, nearly hit 25 posts! :)

Thanks to everyone and keep up the good work!

What did the UKIP bloke say? I fucking hate nationalists. Yes, I swore, that's how much I hate them.

I wrote an article called The UK & the rise of the far-right (http://acatheunderground.wordpress.com/2012/12/30/the-uk-the-rise-of-the-far-right/)

He posted 2 comments, he wasn't rude or aggressive or anything.

Care to write yourself

Indeed, we are always encouraging people to write for us.

On another note today has been our busiest day so far. 77 views from 9 different countries just today.

We have a group now if you want to have a gander at the statistics for the site.

Just a reminder that TU (http://acatheunderground.wordpress.com/) is still looking for writers, March is now over and we had over 1750 viewers this month (see the stats on the groups page).

So if you want your work to get a good sized audience we would be happy to have you join the team.

Links are in my signature for the groups page and the website.

Sorry for digging up an old post but I thought it would be better that unnecessarily creating a new one.

After 1 year TU is being closed down.

On our best month we had over 2000 views but with very little contribution and a period of nothing I've decided to shut it down.

Thanks to all those who did write and contribute to the project though, it was greatly appreciated.
