So when I read this BBC News report (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-20767138) I was at first like "fucking Taliban assholes", but then I read...
There has been opposition to such immunisation drives in parts of Pakistan, particularly after a fake CIA hepatitis vaccination campaign helped to locate Osama Bin Laden in 2011.
... my mind was filled with a hell of a lot more anger and I was more like "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK..."
That sort of stunt is mind-meltingly stupid not just because it decreases trust in actual vaccination programs, but also because it contributes to problems elsewhere, including the precious US of fucking A, which is not in actual fact on some whole different planet from the rest of the world, and thus can have dangerous diseases crossing their border.
Fuck the Taliban, but fuck the CIA even more for giving the Taliban the opportunity to fuck over the people of Pakistan.

Jesus Christ what disgusting animals. Killing aid-workers because vaccination is "infidels work".

I'm not sure how much the Taliban's opposition to vaccination is down to some actual religious principle, versus a cynical exploitation of CIA dirty tricks like the mentioned fake hepatitis vaccination program.
It's not good either way, of course, but if we're gonna get angry then it should be for the right reasons.

Oh calm down. I'm sure America's joy at winning its game of international hide-and-seek far outweighs the costs of causing a few million people to be denied polio vaccinations.
Consider:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poliomyelitis "approximately 90% of polio infections cause no symptoms at all"
On the other hand, 100% of the time Osama Bin Laden flies planes into buildings, thousands of people die.

Is this a leg-pull of some kind?
Because firstly, even if polio is 90% asympomatic, it fucking sucks for those who have the virus enter their bloodstream, in which case it can cause permanent paralysis.
Secondly polio outbreaks, unlike spectacle-laden terrorist attacks on city landmarks protected by the world's best-funded security services, can occur more than once.
Also, the assassination of bin Laden was mostly of value for propaganda purposes, rather than preventing further attacks.

At first I thought you were being sarcastic, but then you added that bit about 90% of polio infectees being asymptomatic and then I wasn't quite sure.
