Well, we all remember the debacle of DPRK's rocket launch for the centennial of Kim il-Sung's birth back in April. Go and get some lolz from the revleft thread over that.

This launch however seems to have been successful. The rocket was monitored passing over Okinawa, and parts of the first stage of the rocket were found off the waters of the Philippines. NORAD indicates that the rocket reached orbit and deployed its "payload" though it did not specify what it was- though the NK government says that it was a satellite like the first launch.

WASHINGTON — NORAD says North Korean missile appears to have launched ‘an object’ into orbit.

(what a crappy looking website, but anyways...)
So yeah, it launched successfully this time. Barring the satellite blowing up in orbit, the DPRK government we'll likely see tout the success of its rocket as a great progress etc etc in the KCNA and the other countries of the world condemning it for launching the rocket.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief now that the DPRK can fight the imperial pig dogs with rockets

I am disappointed, the KCNA seems to be awfully reserved for the time being.
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 successfully lifted off from the Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County, North Phyongan Province by carrier rocket Unha-3 on Wednesday.
The satellite entered its preset orbit. -0-
I guess we'll have to wait for the GLORIOUS version later.

Good for Broody G., reminding us of the dynastic character of North Korean "socialism"!
I guess for either of the Koreas to put a payload into orbit, that is, to waste spectacular amounts of money (just like the imperialist powers have done!) on space, i.e., on a void, is a noteworthy achievement. Too bad those who run the "People's Democratic Republic" are somehow unable to see to it that the "People" do not succumb to starvation. That would be a real accomplishment, if all the North Koreans got enough calories to live out their natural lives. But don't hold your breath; experience shows (as does the missile launch) that the Kim dynasty has other priorities.

Imperialist lackeys you just repeat the masters say.
Korea's economic difficulties caused by the imperialist blockade.
If the defense force is insufficient.Korea will be imperialist aggression, when the economy will be more difficult.

How can anyone defend against this stinging defence of Juche? The mind boggles.

American leftists should be rejoicing every time we get news of advancements in DPRK dual use technology. It ensures they won't have to mobilize for the antiwar demonstrations that would follow the US invasion of the northern part of the peninsula.
On the other hand, maybe not, since that would just mean a lost opportunity for newspaper sales?

Good for them, better it be a success than a failure and waste more funds on the same thing. It's not like they are going to stop funding military research.

Defending the USSR is one thing. Defending the DPRK, however, makes it hard to take you seriously. To call western media ruthless masters while defending Kim Jong the 3rd and his family's history of cultural mindfucking and propagation of superstitious beliefs is outright insane.
I'm surprised members don't get banned for this blatantly right-populist, dynastic bullshit.
o well this is ok I guess

The only right-populist line is the one that rides the mindless media bandwagon of demonizing a small, courageous country in the cross-hairs of the most powerful empire in the history of the world. What could be more right-populist than such Murdochesque WW1 vintage great-nation 'social' chauvinism?

What could be more right-populist than such Murdochesque WW1 vintage great-nation 'social' chauvinism? It is only the most decrepit of the old guard than can still characterize "the nation" as an individual or a unified body politic. How ironic it is for it to lecture us on social chauvinism.

I didn't say anything about any "nation", but it is an empirical fact that the media in the imperialist metropolis demonizes a diverse range of countries that get in the way of said imperialists.
Nice try tho

"most powerful empire in the history of the world"
Unfortunately, it seems you have spoke of "the nation", so to speak. Of two, it seems. I thought you were aware.
It is an empirical fact; so what? It does not therefore follow that Best Korea is therefore a workers paradise, or that they are "courageous".
I must reiterate: who are you to call anyone a social chauvinist?
