I think I'd have to be an Elf, I don't think they would let me into the League of Santas, he's not usually depicted as being as gaunt-faced and spindly as I am.

I mean, it couldn't be that bad. Sit around, talk to kids, and get paid for it.I'm sure it'd be repetative as hell. It would be fun for one shift IMO and then quickly go downhill pretty quickly.
It might be more fun to be a Santa that shows up at places like schools and hospitals, then it's like you get a performance to do and the kids all get excited at once and they haven't been dragged to the mall by their parents and made to stand in line for 45 minutes.

I suppose the hideous discomfort would wear off after the first dozen or so kids. I'd have to be hard up for resources, though, and in a be-santa-or-go-hungry way.

I could do it if I couldn't find a better job. I've done other things that felt ridiculous in the past, having been working in customer service for the last 14 years. But I probably wouldn't enjoy it very much.
As for it getting repetitive, yeah it probably would but on the other hand it would only last for as long as the commercial christmas does, ie a month or two (it feels like 4 though, doesn't it?).
