Anyway, which do you think where the best song of this year that is ending?

I don't seem to remember many good songs from the type of music I listen (rock/metal/alternative) that came out this year. Anyway, I will think a bit about it.

I can't make up my mind on this one

though this isn't musically or lyrically "the best" song, boys of summer by the ataris has a sentimental value that can never be duplicated

then there's hands down by dashboard confessionals. same thing.

same with away from me, puddle of mud, hey ya, outkast, and scientist, coldplay

Seven Nation Army was a nice little anthem for me.

Deffinitely Haunted by Deep Purple.
No question.

Well, they're both great. But yeah, Haunted is a bit better. I guess it depends on the mood...

Deep Purple? Are they together again? I thought Blackmore was making silly gnu-age renaissance music., you know "Blackmore's Night"

Well, Ritchie is still making that shitty music.
Deep Purple are now: Ian Gillan, Ian Paice, Roger Glover, Don Airey (instead of Jon Lord on the keyboards) and Steve Morse (instead of Ritchie on guitar)

They just released an album, Bananas. Nevermind the stupid name, its actually a great album, probably the best one this year.

If only Blackmore would come to his senses and start making real music again....

I'd agree with Geist, 7 nation army was a good anthem in that it seems most reminiscent of the year 2003, but my favourites would be one of REM's releases either Bad Day or Animal. Probably Bad Day.

Step in the name of love~the remix, by r.kelley :D So what he's a pedaphile, makes damn good music. Ok yeah, it's definitely not the best song of the year but I love it and I don't know why  I'm more into rock than any other type of music but this song is the bombay! :P

What about Madonna's ''American Life'' and Eminem's ''Lose Yourself''?These are really inspiring songs eventhough they're commercial as well...
