I had to work as a valet Friday night for an event at an elitist club called the California Club. Please google it for more info. The event was for Catholic Charities and to honor all that they have done, yes the good hard work that they put your money towards. A black tie affair, no cash handled(private club) open bar and the usual dignitaries. Menu as such:

Crab salad with cilantro-lime dressing and fanned avocado @ $17.50
Applewood smoked bacon wrapped Filet with Beets and Pinot Noir sauce @$38.00
St. Andre and Rocoulons Cheese, Mixed Baby Greens, Apples and Hazelnut Dressing @$14.50
Valharona Choc Granache with Caramel Passion Fruit Sauce and Poached Pear @ $13.00
Coffee & Tea @ $3.50(whether you drink it or not)

10 cases of Shrarfenfenberger Brut NV @ $30 a bottle
10 cases of Pelligrino water @ $ 28 a bottle
10 cases Torreontetes 2011 @ $396
10 cases BV Pinot Noir @ $336
Dance floor $250
Dining room rental (outside labor) $400
White glove service for 20 employees @ $2.50each
A/v equipment at $200.

Do the math folks, Mahoney and his ilk don't give a fuck all about salvation, charity or even trying to play the part. Maggots. Total guest count was 241 parasites. And not one tip given!

Could you at least drink/eat some of that for free?
Maybe steal a bottle or two?

Nope, not a bottle or a scrap of food. Whats the total on the the cost of the party?

Ain't no one firing the big jbeard!

23118 dollars and 50 cents.

Assuming mentioned cases were the standard 12 bottles.

What fucking bullshit. I bet those fuckers didn't eat/drink everything - I remember I was working in a pub once and there was this wedding reception, not even a particularly fancy one but certainly better than I've ever been able to afford, and there was loads of food and drink left over. Thankfully on that occasion I was able to snaffle a couple of bottles of wine and all the food I could stuff into my backpack.

It should be a crime to let food and drink go to waste.

It damn well should be! I hate people wasting and spilling first-necessity products.

They would rather it be disposed of in case one of us gets sick. Well we are sick of your bullshit elitist attitude. And a time is coming, a reckoning of old testament type shit, yet the bad guys gonna win this time.

Wtf is fanned avocado?

Googling it, it doesn't seem to be anything more than sliced avocados. They're just arranged/stacked in such a way that they resemble a paper fan of sorts.

As for OP, these kinds of functions always rubbed me the wrong way and you've shown a perfect reason why they are dumb.
