George Soros has put some money into some good projects here in Baltimore. He is a capitalist and a reformist but still somewhat progressive. Soros is also a critic of neoliberalism and neoconservatism. An interesting guy IMO.

He was involved in the currency speculation that brought about the financial crisis in Sweden in the early 1990's. Cost a lot of people their jobs. He's vomit like the rest of them.

I was aware of his attack on the Bank of England and pound back in the early 90s, but not about his Swedish involvement. Of course Soros is vomit but he has proved useful here in the USA as a critic of the right-wing establishment. Don't misunderstand me, if the revolution happened tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to handcuff Soros and fly him off to Sweden to stand trial before a Peoples' Tribunal. I would prolly come along and help put together the guillotine.:D

Nobody that we should give support to. He's a liberal and obviously, as a capitalist himself, is a supporter of capitalism. Supporting Soros is like supporting Warren Buffet. He spews a lot of liberal rhetoric but ultimately is himself an exploiter.
@Gramsci Guy: If you were there putting together a guillotine, I would be there to sabotage it (to hell with the death penalty) ;)

I was being facetious. How about "struggle sessions" eight hours per day where Swedish workers who lost their jobs in the neoliberal restructuring are given free reign to "speak bitterness" to old Soros while he wears a dunce cap?;)

He's a currency speculator that caused a lot of grief during the 90s when the Soviet Union fell. He made most of his billions during this time and now he has a guilty conscious about it all or something because he finances liberal progressive initiatives against neo-liberalism.
An honest liberal capitalist who knows just how his ilk think. A bit of a class traitor in the smallest sense of the term but overall better than his counterparts like Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers.
What the left needs is some rich guy to really get a guilty conscious and start funding real left wing movements. We need another Engles? LOL
