Do not post pictures like that on this forum. At the very least you could have put it in spoilers and given a NSFW warning.

Apologies, Red Anarchist, I could have posted "NSFW". Don't know how to use spoilers. If there is any doubt, that was an injury suffered by a power-lifter in competition, possibly attempting too much weight.

It's fine, and the spoiler tag can be found at the end of all of the options at the top of the box when you are writing the post.

I was into bodybuilding as a teenager. But while I wasn't a weightlifter (as in primarily trying to increase strenght), I remember trying my max on bench press every once in a while.
My record was 110 kg (242,5 lbs), 15 years ago. Nowadays I'd probably be lucky not to be crushed under 60 kg (132 lbs) or something.

Remeber: Bodybuilding is not about lifting heavy weight, it's about looking like you can lift a lot of weight!
Bodybuilders focus on apperance over strenght, so I bet it looked like you could bench more than 110 KG, am i right Sentinel?

I guess so. I was quite bulky.

I'm trying to get back up there. I wasn't lifting or eating well until a little bit ago. I hope to get back up to benching with 100 pound dumbbells.
300 lbs
herniated a disc so squats are iffy right now. working my way back on deadlifts, pulled a very easy 405 the other day but im not pushing it too much (obviously)
I'm a 150 lb guy I dont bench but I rep 30lb each hand dumbells 3 sets of 20. I don't like heavy lifting and I don't want to look like a toad.
in case any newbies want to know of a strength program to use: look into starting strength by mark rippetoe
his lectures on strength training are excellent. he is a fundamentalist libertarian (in the american sense) and loves to talk about it i.e. at one point he was trying to make the claim that the current mess that powerlifting is in because of an over abundance of federations with different rules and no unity is a good thing because of, you know, no rules, competition, blah blah blah. good luck to powerlifting being an olympic sport any time in the near future. at any rate: his strength talks = good, his political talks = wingbat nonsense
