Via some rambling nut's blog i was attended to this short this short political quiz (http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz).
So i filled it out and found myself being leftist (duh...)
But the quiz' questions are really dumb and right-winged.
For example: "Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft"
My answer would be: There should be no military!
Available answers are: "agree", "maybe", "disagree"
Totally fucked up, ain't it?
More examples:
-"End government barriers to international free trade""
-"Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more"
What? What kind of questions are they? How can i be a real leftist if i can answer this test?
This is my outcome (http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz_result?e=40&i=90_40.gif&p=90).
What is yours? (just copy the url on the outcome page)

it must be a shocker to realize your political views are completely marginal
i mean, these are very broad and extremely generalized, vague tests who are designed for your average internet dweller who's kinda interested in politics. that means they're almost certainly advocates of bourgeois politics and that's why those tests look like that. so yeah, they're not "total right-scam" and no matter how commie i am i can't blame anyone for not taking our point of views into consideration all the time because we really are, at this point, that irrelevant

Most of these, including the one you linked, are made by Libertarians and attempt to skew people to their beliefs. That being said, they're completely stupid and unrealistic, for instance The Political Compass grades your opinions on spanking children, abstract art, gay marriage, and marijuana legalization on the same level as your support for eugenics, wars of aggression, and media censorship as if they are all equally "authoritarian".

The site is called Advocates For Self-Government.
Creating new libertarians by presenting the freedom philosophy in an honest and persuasive way.

I'm apparently a centrist. Damn, I've been posting on the wrong forum for like 7 years, and been active in the wrong kind of organisation for almost 2 years now.
Good quiz

In holland they're all a heap of crap.
-They all insist on asking me what to do with military, but none let me answer "abolish"
-"What to do with govetnment size?" Reduce to zero? Not an option.
-"Lower taxes?" How about none existing!
I hate them...

I'm pretty sure that quiz was literally invented by the libertarian party. I know the tilted square bullshit was.

The world's smallest
political quiz is

tarian capitalists
so you know
how the questions
are going to be structured
Do you want a tyrannical system of systematic theft robbing you or
would you like to see honest people keep the sweat of their brows?
Do you like Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union or do you prefer freedom?

they are all crap, they have no class based questions or class analyses.

Good quiz
Such tests only succeed in placing the most common views. So far I had the highest amount of fun with guys from my country who are monarchists - with support for almost unrestricted free markets, surprisingly high level of individual freedom (ex. guns or drugs), and terribly limited political freedoms.
I could only think about one way to make such tests correct (by correct I mean - accepting more original views) - multiaxis test (two is clearly too little), where previous choices would lead you to different set of questions

Ah the Nolan test, a test that makes you feel like a macho individualist if you answer it right....

As far as I recall, every political test I've ever come across is bullshit. They all have questions for which it's almost impossible to provide a simple "agree/disagree" (or whatever other options you're given) answer; some of them have questions that have absolutely nothing to do with politics (like the Political Compass).
Anyway, I just took that quiz and answered as best I could. Apparently I'm a liberal.
