Irans "parliament" is discussing a new law. according to this law, women who are under 40 years old, will need permission of their "caretaker" for their passport. such permissions were necessary for marriage before, but now their applications are expanding.

if "parliament" approves this law, a 39 year old widow who her father has died will need permission of her uncle (who is according to religion and law her "caretaker") in order to travel abroad. if her uncle has a problem with that, she is unable to travel.

this is taking place while responsibility age of women is 9. it means a 9 year old girl and a 50 year old woman will receive same sentences in a court if they commit a similar crime. women above 9 are "responsible" but they need a "caretaker". even when they become 40 years old, their husband can have 3 other permanent wifes and unlimited number of "temporary wifes" but if a women betrays her husband, her husband has a legal right to kill her on sight.

"Outrageous!

The age limit should be raised to 60 instead!"

^Shall be the opinion of those members of the Iranian Majles that disagree with this law.
