Let's get the low-down on everything about this.
Also called the "Second Congo War"
- It was considered Africa's world war
- It involved 8-9 countries
- Over 5.4 million casualties
- one of the largest wars in recent history (mid 90s to 2003)
What was the cause of this conflict? What happened? What were the results, legacy, etc? Why was there a 2nd Congolese war? Foreign intervention? Puppet imperialism?
Why is this ginormous war never mentioned? I've read several books on African history and this conflict was barely even mentioned as well.
As always, a left-viewpoint is appreciated.
Anything and everything about this topic I'm generally interested in.
(figured this could be in the History section as well...)
