Fettucine Alfredo.

It's not curable. It just means that she can't eat wheat gluten. However, I was a strict vegetarian for eight years, so I'm used to reading labels, and we're both fortunate that the availability of gluten-free products has exploded in the past few years.

I haven't had breakfast yet, so last night's dinner: Beans, rice, and peppers in a turkey stock.

Very long ago I consumed the lies of american democracy and it has left me staving for real food ever since. Although I hunger, I can only feed in a pack and the rest of my class is content to go on feeding on garbage.

"I was hoping we'd make real progress -
But it seems we have lost the power
Any tiny step of advancement
Is like a raindrop falling into the ocean -
We're running on the spot - always have - always will?
We're just the next generation of the emotionally crippled.
Though we keep piling up the building blocks
The structure never seems to get any higher
Because we keep kicking out the foundations
And stand useless while our lives fall down.
I believe in life - and I believe in love
But the world in which I live in - keeps trying to prove me wrong.
Running on the spot,
Always have, always will.
We're just the next generation of the emotionally crippled"

It was all from one of those little fried chicken shops that seem to be everywhere in the more working-class areas of south-east England. You may or may not have a clue as to what the hell kind of establishment I'm on about, but it was most certainly junk food and not home cooked.

Personally I think the offerings from the little chicken shops taste a whole lot better than anything from McDonald's. They may be incredibly greasy and the salad accompaniments may on the limp side, but at least they seem to use actual meat rather than cardboard in their burgers and the prices are nice and low - my local place does an excellent deal of 2 cheeseburgers and fries for £2.50.

It ain't healthy, but for me there are times when a greasy, salty, fatty meal really hits the spot.

I agree. Sometimes healthy food just doesn't satisfy. Prefer local shops to McDonald's as well. Even Burger King is tastier than Mickey D's.
