I'm Dazdra Flynn from Dogwood City. I'm a wage slave, student of art, and a Marxist-Leninist. By Leninist, I mean to say I trace whatever ideological lineage I could claim to Lenin through Stalin from Hoxha. As much as I respect these and other controversial figures, I'm not really interested in rehabilitating their historical reputations. I'm here to encourage and participate in critical discussion regarding capitalism and imperialism and the neoliberal attitudes that legitimize them both. I'm also interested in feminist perspectives, as well as disability theory (I have family on the autistic spectrum).

My city has played a major role in the struggle for civil rights by Black workers. Here and there, the revolutionary spirit of underclass struggle persists; the working poor seem acutely aware of their predicament, particularly where it concerns race. University students, on the other hand, seem particularly responsive to calls for organization against things like tuition hikes and oppression of undocumented students.

I became a leftist through interest in technocracy, itself spurred on by interest in applying a scientific methodology to the organization of society. Technocracy appealed to me in the appointment of certified technicians in the administration of production; I attributed the shortcomings of capitalism not to the ownership of production by an oligarchical class, but to what I reasoned was the impulsive ineptitude of consumers to guide a sustainable market. I've now come to put my faith in my class comrades as the primary movers of socialist revolution.

Here's to RevLeft. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately most people here are not too fond of Stalin and Hoxha.

It is good to see some people like you joining this place!

Yea, you find that there are alot of people who uphold the Kaufskite line of the second international (and who contradictory argue that this line has absolutely nothing to due with it's degeneration what so ever). These people tend to be rude at times and a bit too obsesed with 19th century ideas of theoretical purity. We also have Trots but they are nice trots, it's tempting to be mean to them since it's easy to confuse them with the kaufskites, but you should try to be nice to the trots because they are much better than the Kaufskites.

What's a Kaufskyite?

What's a Kaufskyite?

Not to be confused with the revisionist trend that Kaufsky lead when he went "renegade", they uphold Marxism as interpreted by Karl Kaufsky who emphasized the revolutionary potential of the proletariat and the fact that the peasantry completely lack any revolutionary potential and could only be dragged kicking and screaming to socialism. They argue that the Second International was the foremost socialist international until it degenerated over the WW1 question

What the hell is a Kaufskyite? Are you referring to Frank Kofsky? He was a good historian. I particularly liked his book Black Music, White Business: Illuminating the History and Political Economy of Jazz, which provided a great outline of the nature of the jazz music industry, its relationship to white and black racial tensions, and its expounding on the relationship between the industrialists of the music industry and the music itself as well as the artists.

But.. he's kind of an unknown guy. Certainly not relevant enough or prolific in cultural or political matters to have a political following, certainly not a contemporary one.

You really shouldn't put words in other people's mouths. It creates all sorts of unneeded misinformation and confusion.

Look, I can do it too: Maoists just jerk off to a statue of their martyr, ignore class analysis and historical materialism, and label people who disagree with their views as petit-bourgeois liberals, even though their positions on organisation and imperialism constitute some of the most fucking liberal crap to ever exist within political debate.

And this is to some extent true.

No, this is every tendency. No single one has a monopoly on such practices :D

Hah! Very true. Every political tendency will attract some group of utterly insufferable idiots, though some will do so more than others depending upon one's perspective.
