You've got two choices:
1. Use the word "fag" one more time and get sent back to the shithole from whence you came.
2. Try to improve upon this awful first impression and try not to be a total shithead.

The first post was shitposting. We frown upon the word fag with very good reason.

Welcome to Revleft, home of leftist faggotry. We got Marxfags, Leninfags, anarchistfags, Maoistfags, Avantifags, etc.

But seriously, don't use the word fag around here.

o well this is ok I guess

If you wanna say "fag" go to anokchan
The treatment of language is silly around here, but nonetheless rules are rules

/pol/ is a 4chan board right? I'd like to think that we have at least a little bit more content here. "Stormfags" is what you call shitfront peeps? When did they raid us? I never noticed anything out of the ordinary.

How recent was this raid I wonder lol.

We've been DDOS'd a few times at extremely non-peak hours but that's all I've noticed)

We ought to leave that word to Shitfront and the Westboro Baptist Church.

this defensive attitude doesn't do us any good in this context. obviously the use of homophobic language should be actively and strongly discouraged but perhaps there's a better way to do it than this? You're essentially telling this guy to fuck off just because he's using language that is (unfortunately) very common all across the entire internet. He's new and probably here to learn - something which we'd benefit from - and instead you brand him as unwelcome in his first post/thread. Why don't you instead explain to him why that language is problematic in a manner fitting to someone (presumably) new to leftist politics rather than jumping down his throat? Build bridges, my friend...

Welcome to the forum Critic. Please stick around and read/contribute to the discussions, there's a lot to learn here.

The word fag is an integral component of homophobic discourse that subjugates those that deviate from hetero-normative identities by placing them outside of 'normality'. thus, using the word contributes to this exclusionary narrative and pathologizes those that do not identify with stereotyped constructions of gender and sexuality. As leftists, we strongly oppose discrimination based upon gender, sexuality, and race and therefore vehemently oppose language that furthers such discrimination. Hence the angry replies.

well, I will watch my language. sorry :sneaky:

I used the "f'' word to refer to fascists.

But I am undecided between my current political party (Justice Party), and Anti-Revisionist Marxist-Leninism.

Using "fag" as some kind of "suffix" or something is somewhat stupid and infantile but usually not homophobic.

True, but it can unintentionally promote a general culture of homophobia, in which "homosexual=gay=fag=undesirable", meaning that by the transitive property, "gay" or "homosexual" automatically equates to "undesirable".

I term such usage as petty-homophobic. I have some friends who do as much-say homophobic words but support gay rights-and still cannot see past why such dehumanizing language is harmful to society. While it may not come from the mouth of a person who is homophobic it still promotes homophobia by associating negative attributes towards a sexual minority.

MODERATOR ACTION:

If I see even one more post here mini-modding ("Ban him!" etc) or attacking the original poster, you're getting infracted straight-up.

I don't want new users being attacked. This sort of hostile atmosphere is not conducive to good discussion and certainly isn't very welcoming to new members.

Furthermore, if you feel action needs to be taken, then send a PM to a moderator, DO NOT make a post saying "he's a troll!" "ban him!"

This post constitutes a public warning.
