I wish facial hair for US presidents* was back in. I'd love to hear the commentary about it during the media coverage in elections. "Yeah, he clearly won that debate, did you see how he tugged on his goatee during that question about the debate? Very Presidential."
This guy was apparently the last mainstream candidate with facial hair to run:

I guess we can blame his stupid-looking stashe for ensuring that all our future liars-in-chief would be bald-faced:D
So who do RevLefters think had the best facial hair of all the US Presidents?
*If Presidents won for their facial hair, there would finally be a rational reason why there's never been a female President. Think about it: 8 US born women have grown up to become literal princesses (through mairrage) and 0 have become president.

Lincoln ran on a ticket with a hipster neck-beard, but the yankee chin-beard won out ultimately in a decision by the electoral college.

actually, Lincoln ran on a cleanly shaved (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/Abraham_Lincoln_by_Alexander_Helser%2C_1860-crop.jpg) ticket. his first facially haired public appearance was his inauguration, during the campaign he was still smooth and looking not at all like abraham lincoln. he ever sported his iconic look only for a couple of years.

I always thought that if I became a bourgeois politician, I'd try my hardest to bring facial hair back. I'd grow a nice goatee and make up some cool-sounding story about how I didn't shave for the election because I want to honest to the people and not change myself. Then once I become popular I'd write a book about how facial hair can save politics and guest star on the Colbert Report.
Some day.

Chester Arthur's facial hair looks like he has hair curtains coming down off his face or something.
I always thought his mutton chops were more well groomed, like his portrayal in this statue:

Martin van Buren sported a fairly wild set of whiskers, himself.
