They're not my bosses anymore since I quit but these motherfuckers are robbing me of my last paycheck. The couple weeks before I left I was working full-time at McDonald's, 5 days a week 8 hours(sometimes more) a day working the opening shift. Couldn't stand it anymore so I quit, hated that job with a passion. My last pay period was between the 16th and 26th of last month when I quit. Now one of my managers comes to my house today to drop off my last paycheck. I'm in the shower so he talks shortly with my mom and leaves.

How much was my last paycheck? 30 FUCKING DOLLARS! My mom asks him why the amount was so low and he says I only worked a couple hours in that time. A few hours! Fucking so mad right now I want to blow someone's face off. Here I am trying to find a job, pay my bills, penny pinching my money expecting at least another $300 and my managers try to fuck me with $30! They tried to fuck the wrong person, I'll tell you that.

This isn't the first time they tried to pull shit like this either, my buddies got 4 hours overtime one night and the store manager got pissed and went to the computers and erased all their overtime. They've done this type of shit so many times god damn. Did I tell you all I'm fucking pissed off right now and just want to punch a hole in the fucking wall.

I have never work at McDonalds, so not 100% sure on how they operate but I assume you need to address it with your payroll first. Managers in a large company like McDonalds should only be approving working hours and overtime? Once you have done the work I would assume they send off timesheets to payroll. The best bet would be to find out who is above the manager and does the payroll. If the manger for whatever reason does payroll then you have to go above him. Unfortunantly, you have to treat it as a mistake when you're speaking to payroll, dont insinuate the manager 'robbed' you of money or they may take his word, just passively make out that he is incompetent. If you are in a union and after you have contact the employer and they have done nothing, lodge it with union as unpaid wages.

Yes sadly I will have to act like it was just a mistake made by either the assistant or store manager and the payroll is done by some person in a different city. But I'm still going into my old work at some point and calling them out. That's going to happen either way now, I've always wanted to just talk shit right to their face. I would have left it alone, moved on with life, but now they want to fuck me over.

This is wage theft. Hiero is right, try to go the reasonable route first. But if that doesn't work (mcd's a big enough place they are very risk averse so you probably have a better shot there than a local small business) it's not like you should give up.

Get in touch with organizations in your region dedicated to the problem, there are several of them in America. Finally, contact the legal clinic of your local law school.

The gov't is generally useless, but unless you were unionized (and I am guessing you weren't) they'll be all the leverage you've got.

In construction in Australia it is often common for workers to go weeks without being paid. Construction is a pretty rough industry where people are hired on and off and are often scared to even raise the most basic issues, safety is often ignored for fear or not being hired on the next job (contrasted to my industry in community services where I ring just HR). Thoose workers normally contact the union about thoose issues, and this conditions create very contested workplaces in construction. Without a union workers probably go without/

Explain to them that this is a mistake (sadly you have to do it) and then make these bastards pay with any means necessary. I believe that USA has better laws for the protection of workers' rights (at least better than ours). If you don't want to go so far then you won't get your money.
