Are there any farmers ( or people who grow something besides weed ) here?

Not entirely related, but is anyone else annoyed that people who own farms on which they pay workers little to do most or all of the work still are called "farmers"? Some supermarket-bought cheese slices here have printed on each individual wrapper "Farmer Owned". I don't even know what they mean. The cheese is owned? The company? Sure not by the farm workers.

Carry on.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, dairy farming may work quite differently from other sorts, so excuse me if I came off as extremely ignorant. It is entirely possible that the owners of the company run the entirety of operations on their highly mechanised dairy farms. But I somehow doubt....

Hey weed is just like any other crop you have to grow. I don't grow anything though we do have a little garden on the side of our yard. There's more to farming than just growing plants though. Goats, cows, etc, etc. what is it you need?

Maybe you could take a look in the Maoist group.

I grow some spices like oregano and tarragon and a few other ornamental plants on my balcony. Mostly succulents, although my ficus and African violets are the long timers (I tend to give away the succulents becuase where I live I don't get much sun light so it's a problem). Growing up my family had an urban plot that grew us carrots onions and cabbages, but I hated vegetables as a child so don't have much memory eating them but I do remember packing into the van on the Sunday evenings when we'd go pick them with other families that had plots. Mostly it was my father's and grandmother's project. I know we sold it when I was in elementary school for some reason. Also, I have relatives who "farm" this plot of land they own in a suburban community purely for tax purposes. I think they nominally grow like one tomato plant on 1/2 hectares or something. It's dodgy as hell.
