View Full Version : US post-election madness

I don't know if this is better for chit chat or not. If it is just move it there please.

One good thing, probably the only good thing about US elections, is to see how diehard liberal or conservatives react when their person of choice loses. Unfortunately Obama didn't go, so we don't have the disinhearted e-progressives breaking out eulogies for their failures and moving to Canada. Instead we have angry Conservatives. Onwards!

RUSH: A note that I got from a good friend of mine this is a fascinating little think piece. He lives in Kansas City. Hes fed up with all the ads on TV. Hes just fed up with it. His Romney sign was defaced. Cow manure was thrown all over it and underneath it on his yard. He says, You know, Im getting real tired of all the ads. I cant wait til tomorrow, and I hope your prediction is right. But heres my idea: Lets just flip a coin.

If the Republicans win, they get to select the half of the country they want and the Democrats get the other half. You split this country right down the middle. Republicans pick the side they want; the Democrats get the other side. We have Mitt; they have Obama. You can live wherever you want to live. You choose which side you want to live in. He said, The question is: How long would it be before Democrats are building tunnels to get underneath the wall keeping them out of the Republican side?

Stop and think. This is a great illustration. You split the country right in half, right down the Mississippi River, and lets just say the Republicans get the left half the country and they build a wall. The Mississippi River is not a moat. You build a wall there. The Democrats get everything on the East and we get everything on the West. Or flip it. It doesnt matter. We get our ways of life on our side; they get their ways of life on theirs.

How long will it be before all those Democrats are trying to get over to our side?

How long? Wed have to have checkpoints! Wed have to shoot em on sight if theyre trying to get into our side of the country, just like in the old East and West Germany days. Stop and think of that. It would make a great book: Talking about one side and comparing the two. It would be a great movie showing where certain companies chose to live, where certain people chose to live. Itd show how they chose to run their businesses, how they chose to manage their affairs.

The first thing I told my dad to do when Obama was declared elected was to switch the channel to Fox News so I could bask in their tears. They did not disappoint.

As seen on my facebook feed, for reals:

"4 years ago America asked a guy out on a date. On that date he stole money out of her purse, gave her 4 debts all larger than her yearly salary, lied to her, watched her friend get killed and did nothing to stop it, and raped her. After it was all over, America winked at him and asked that next time he not use protection. Lesson: America is a college girl on spring break. And we all know they make great decisions."

"To the Republicans who said they would move to Australia if Obama won: Australia has universal healthcare, compulsory voting, no guns, no death penalty, pro-choice when it comes to contraception, openly gay politicians and judges, evolution is taught in every school, and our female PM is an unmarried atheist. Be sure to declare your pitchforks at Tullamarine."

A republican's a rape apologist? What a surprise.

Apart from the fact Australia doesn't have a President, the head of state is the British Queen, and if she meant the Prime Minister, he is actually a she, and isn't religious*, I would say she is pretty accurate on this one.

In a 2010 interview when asked if she believed in God, Gillard stated: "No I don't ... I'm not a religious person ... [I'm] a great respecter of religious beliefs but they're not my beliefs." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_Gillard#cite_note-DoesNotBelieveInGod-165)

I didn't know until yesterday that racists wanting to move to Australia was also a thing in America... that is one boat full of immigrants I would be happy to see them sink.

I think he probably has more of a military coup sort of thing in mind.

There's so many blogs where these conservatives are melting down, and quite a few of these idiots are calling Obama the n-word, because they're hateful idiots. Also, for future information of some of these idiots, the White House is not white because of white skin colour, it used to be grey until the War of 1812 when the British and Canadians burnt the White House, and it was painted to cover up the scorch marks.

Fundies Say The Darndest Things (http://fstdt.net/) should be an amusing read over the next few days. I remember when Obama was elected for the first time, there was a veritable flood of hateful bile and hysterical racism that kind of took me by surprise, even though I had been visiting the site already for a number of years.

That was when I realised just how fucking racist Americans can be.

http://stfuconservatives.tumblr.com/ is another one to look at (although it is rather pro-Democratic).
