If this thread already exists, please delete. I'm blind and probably didn't see it if it does exist.
Maybe I'm rushing to the matter, but do you guys think Bush is going to win the elections next year? I believe he will, after all, Al Gore won the last time but Bush still took the presidency. Now... are yankees that stupid that would vote for him again? I know many will *stares at Opposing Ideologies forum*, but what about the rest that opposed to war?
Just a thought.

yes robert, the workers are "extremely stupid", or maybe you dont know what the fuck your talking about, you waste of space.
Will Bush win?
It looks likely, hes gone for tax-cuts in a time of recession, so this means those hit by economic slowdown will vote to keep more of the smaller amount of money they gain.
Foreign policy, he still has edge, and winning symbolic bodies like Saddam will be highlighted as justifying war campaign
As for the christians in USA, bush gets votes
And he will get the financial backing again from business, and looks like in primaries he wont get that rough a ride with internal opposition, so he will come out looking good.
Democrats,
im not sure, they were looking opportunist with war campaign. Maybe one after this they will have a good chance. I guess it depends on how badly the economy is hit, and if republicans will take a laissez faire approach or not

I have a severe problem.
I have a adamant dislike for the Republicans, and George W. Bush and his administration in particular. They're a malignant tumor on the ass of humanity, and the US would be better off without them.
However, If Bush loses, and is no longer president...I'ma lose my unofficial star of my comics! ;)
Oh my, choices, choices...
Im gonna go with Spring Cleaning. Pull that Bush out of the White House;)

I believe Bush should became a president next year.A norweigian peace activist Johan Gratung has calculated that Usa will collapse in 20 years. He also mentioned that it would have been 25 years but Bush's policies has decreased the time by 5 years.
Remember that this man calculated excat time for the collapse of the USSR long before it happened. He was only couple months wrong in his calculations.

Bush will win....
However, a lot will depend on further events in Iraq and elsewhere
Bin laden, WMD, new Iraqi Government...etc...

Bush will win, especially now that Sadaam is caught. None of the democratic candidates are popular enough to compete with him. Something majorly bad has to happen to disillusion some Moderate Rep's to vote for someone different....basically we're royally fucked...

Maybe a small economical failure would be a nice way for that asswipe to get out of the office. Since the country is runned on capitalism and the fact that for there economy to stay up, the people must spend. If all of a sudden alot of things got more expensive, they would stop buying and make the economy lower. Isn't that what a depression is? The economy is low because people no longer have money to buy things? Just thinking out loud.

The attitude of the Bush campaign appears to be a "why are you attacking Bush for attacking terrorists and evil people" won. It is so predictable, Bush will claim that the USA is in the middle of a war against terror and that it will only aid terrorists to remove him now. I think he will get in again, but it will be a very sad day for the world when he does.

Yes I thought Hillary and why not?
Because she is essentially too late. In modern american politics you have to participate well before the primaries (the "invisible primaries") - to be in for a chance.

Hilary Clinton would be just as bad as her husband was, and the american people dont vote for the president, the electoral college does and Bush was elected from that.
still dont understand the trust and hope people have in bourgeosie elections
James
4th January 2004, 12:40
hmm, that suggests the people have no influence - that is not true.
Electoral college votes are given according, roughly, on the popular vote.
Its basically the winner-takes-all principle that is in the UK, but in many seperate districts, and its just for 1 person in the end. Not just for one state.

c'mon everyone knows that the people dont chose the president, Wallstreet does. If the Capitalist class doesnt want Bush in power they will make sure he wont get reappointed .a persons vote is shit in "elections" in capitalist countries

I'm sure Bush 2 would love to actually run and WIN as President. Sadly, he may win, since his campaign of terror is working so well with his own people, but I am holding out a thead of hope that the USers will actually educate themselves, maybe quit watching CNN , and figure out that they are seriously screwed.... :D

I believe that Bush wants to be as famous as Kennedy, or at least end like him.
Bush is trying really hard to be the most wanted man on Earth.

George Bush is absolutely going to win the election. This current administration is easily the most corrupt in a long a time. Most American presidents have been corrupt, but not nearly at this level. If you look at the shit that Bush has already managed to do in office, this will be nothing.
Hell in the last election he managed to win, even though he lost, thanks to his blatant corruption, now that he's actually president, there is no way in hell that anyone can get him out of there.

Despite the fact that Bush has actually turned many republicans of the more intelligent variety into more boredline, likely-to-vote-Dean's, he has also won the sickening adoration of the uneducated masses by bagging Saddam. There is no doubt in my mind that he will win. Dean is the most likely to even go up against him, but this election is not going to be a surprise. Even if it's a close one, Georgie'll just steal this one like the last. Wait, I mean, electoral college will steal it for him...
I'm just going to face the sad fact: He's going to win. But I'm hoping his next term will just take more years off the time until the US collapses (hopefully by people's revolution... too bad most of the US is too dumb or rich to have a problem with the government...).

I think I may have an answer for this hated nation, and for every other nation scourged by us. Wesley Clark. In the US, there is a movement to vote for the most likely candidate to beat Bush (of course this is all lefties like myself and Michael Moore, and not the RINOS and other "conservative "lot). Even through the conservatively politicized media here, people know that Iraq has become a disaster.
Now Bush's Campaign will be built on not "switching horses mid race", because of the "war" (invasion), but a Four Star General who believes in universal health care, raising the minimum wage, taking every allied countries aviews into account, allowing for more funding for education (which will wake up TONS of us arrogant yanks), applying a TRUE exit strategy for Iraq, only allowing war as the LAST choice, allowing for a woman's right to choose, and sealing off any attempts to limit american's and any body else's ( my entire extended family lives in England) liberties would be a step in the right direction.
Picture it now. The main point discussed in the presidential debates is going to be foreign policy. Now, there are SO MANY american's with so much fear. Who do you think they would rather have? A person who went AWOL from his Air National Guard Unit for a YEAR, or a four star general , who actually cares about the people.
Now I am being a little biased in this piece, so anyone from Kosovo, Bosnia, or anywhere he might have done dastardly things tell me that I am wrong. But right now, for the safety of the Earth (and any other hiding americans [ and I understand why]) we need to get behind this guy.
Clark in 04!

i have said it before as have other on this site relying on"elections" in bourgeosie "democracies" for change are pointless, the only way for real change is DIRECT ACTION.

Bush seems likely to win the upcoming election whether it's a fair win or not we will probably never know!
During the winterholidays there was a code orange, which is the higest terrorist warning alert. During the time of the code orange CIA ordered som flights to be cancelled one of those planes was an Air France plane. That plane was cancelled becuse CIA told Air France that three potential terrorist could be on it. AIR France immediately cancelled the flight. CIA gave Air France the namnes of theese terrorist but when the french authorities checked the names up they proved not to be likely terrorists, the first one was a 5 year old child, tne 2nd one was an old chinese lady and the third one was a welsh inscurance agent. The little child was sad to be a well known tunisian terrorist who was a trained pilot.
Can these cancelled flights be a way for Bush to win votes for the upcoming election?
If he keep the american people afraid they will vote for him because they know what Bush does with the "terrorists".
If the code orange often is used the peolpe won't forget what the terrorists did on the 11th of september and therefore they will vote for the patriotic republican!
/This according to Swedish newspapers.

haha, he's now said he'd award 3 year work permits to immigrants!
So now Bush also has the entire mexican/hispanic vote!!
(okay, "entire", is a bit over the top...)
i have said it before as have other on this site relying on"elections" in bourgeosie "democracies" for change are pointless, the only way for real change is DIRECT ACTION.
yes yes yes, and as someone should have pointed out to you the first time you said it : you are living in a dream world!
Elections are the only way in most "western liberal democracies" at the moment.
Direct action requires a majority support - this is VERY far off. So wake up, and stop bashing realistic people and their methods.

The three year work permit will get him the mexican/hispanic votes for now but the work permit will make it available for the capitalist's to give slave salarys. They will not think about that in the start but after a while it will become obvious that this permission is only for votes!

and the american people dont vote for the president, the electoral college does and Bush was elected from that
How does one become a member of the electorial college?
I'm sure Bush 2 would love to actually run and WIN as President.
Didn't he win last time? I mean they had rules for the elections don't they? If he didn't win based the rules how is it he is president?
The three year work permit will get him the mexican/hispanic votes for now but the work permit will make it available for the capitalist's to give slave salarys.
Why would they work for such low pay? Wouldn't it be better to just go to McDonalds and work? Since they will have papers then it isn't like they will have to hide themselves.

Didn't he win last time? I mean they had rules for the elections don't they? If he didn't win based the rules how is it he is president?
Yes he won - BUT - was it a fair win?
The intresting thing wasn't that he won, it was HOW he won.
Half-a-year after his entrance as the president votes were found in Denmark!
Those votes were the difference between a victory for the republican or the democracian Gore.
A corrupted election isn't so hard to win, is it?
Why would they work for such low pay? Wouldn't it be better to just go to McDonalds and work? Since they will have papers then it isn't like they will have to hide themselves.
Why they would work for such a low pay?
Well, which opportunities do they have?
Illegal immigrants are treatened as animals, they don't have any rights and the employers use that.
The work permit doesn't give them rights for higher pay just a minimum wage and why give them higher than that? The only reason why employers hire illegal immigrants is because they can pay them avkward wages and make a big profit otherwise would they hire american citizens.
