That actually describes my present.

Everyone in my town knows each other through their temp work. Temp jobs pay the best. But it means having three solid months of employment twice a year, and doing shitty day-labor in between.

I remember reading an article about this a few months back and it ended with a guy saying "well, they said if we do well, they might hire us full time!", and I got extremely, extremely sad. It's what they told us, and even I believed it.
