I'm looking for sources (books or online) discussing the influences of industry and international organizations (IMF, UN, etc.) in Latin America in the mid to later 20th century.

Preferably relating to Pinochet's 1973 Chilean coup and other aspects of Latin American politics.

If you want an interesting, narrative account of 20th century Latin American imperialism I would suggest looking at Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins.

Anybody else? Jandar's suggestion is good but I could use a few more.

I don't remember it discussing the '73 coup but: Silent Revolution: The Rise and Crisis of Market Economics in Latin America, by Duncan Green http://monthlyreview.org/press/books/pb0912/

OK, that's all I need. Thanks everyone!
