View Full Version : What if the next Assassin's Creed was during the Bolshevik uprising?

Questionable

It's late and I'm rambling but GODDAMN can you imagine how amazing that would be? An assassin sneaking around against the backdrop of the social disorder of early 20th century Russia, scaling the walls of huge Orthodox cathedrals and Czarist palaces, meeting historical figures like Lenin. If they can do so well with the America Revolution they can do the Russian one as well.

I'd buy it ten times.

The final mission would probably be escaping from a gulag.

Sadly, I think that will just remain a comic.

Oh, and questionable, you might be disappointed. Stalin is a templar in the AC universe.

Wasn't the third game originally planned as taking place during the October Revolution?

Definitely check this comic book out. It covers the time period you're describing, and it's considered an official part of the AC canon.

It's a three-parter, with the historical aspect of the story set in late 19th-early 20th Century Russia. Part 1 has the Assassin protagonist, Nikolai Orelov, attemting to assassinate Tsar Alexander III in the midst of the Borki Train Disaster, Part 2 has him tracking down the Imperial Staff, which is a Piece of Eden, to Tunguska (which, as we saw in the games, results in the Tunguska Explosion), and Part 3 has him being called back to St. Petersburg on the eve of the October Revolution by Lenin himself, who asks him to assassinate the imprisoned Nicholas II.

There's a sequel to it that came out this year as well, called The Chain.

And yeah, it would be interesting to have seen the Russian Revolution fleshed out more in the Assassin's Creed historical universe, especially to elaborate on who's an Assassin and who's a Templar. In the comic, Lenin's older brother Aleksandr Ulyanov is said to have been a full-on, dedicated member of the Assassins who was executed in service of the order. Lenin knew of the Assassins and kept in touch with people from the order, but apparently was not an actual member. And in the games, Stalin is said to have been a Templar all along.
