Greetings to everyone.
I'm a guy in my early 30's living in the southern USA. I'm a native Texan, and I'm married to a spouse from a former Soviet-bloc country. I actually like living in such a politically backwards part of the USA, but I hope to one day live to my spouse's home country.
I've been a Marxist since I was a teenager. These days, I consider myself a non-sectarian leftist. I am most interested in concrete actions to improve the conditions for people living in this world, and I am very little interested in meaningless statements of support or censure of various things or a heavily theoretic/jargon-full "radical critique of the paradigm of self vis a vis post-industrial anti-heteronormative gender detournement." To that extent, I'm happy to discuss and learn about the development of socialist states in the 20th century and the problems of those states. I'm also happy to talk about strategies and tactics moving forward from today. I am very interested in workers' self-management in Yugoslavia, and I know very little about Maoist practice and am open to learn more.
Outside of politics, I really like computers, fast cars, poverty tourism, heavy drinking, and punk rock.
By the way, I put 'Ola' in the title line. That was Portuguese-- not misspelled Spanish.
So, I look forward to a lot of good discussions. Now, here's some background music... 6X0OSdBeo3M
