Assuming there are several users in the path of the thing a thread to share your experiences and information (as long as power is up of course)
I hope every one is safe, check in to let us know how you and your loved ones are.

Thanks, I'm in Queens, New York. All the buses and trains are closed.
Trees are moving like I've never seen before right outside my window.

I live in eastern PA, but I should be fine. I have a generator so I don't have to worry and a few family members are here just in case they get flooded. It is already pouring but it won't even be at the worst until midnight.

I have been preparing. I just filled my bathtub with water so that I will have toilet water to flush with, I am in the process of heating my room to whatever capacity my electric heater can get it up to (never know how cold it will get or how long the power will be out), and I have ensured that all of my electrical devices are fully charged and that there is fire wood piled up in the living room.

The wind and rain is just starting in MA, supposed to be hit hard 8AM tomorrow morning. I'll still probly have to go to work. :/

This thing is supposed to be fucking gigantic. My grandfather said it was supposed to be the largest hurricane in recorded history. Is that true?
One thing is for certain, it certainly has a far reaching grasp. Here in north/central Kentucky the weather and temperature change on a dime. Today is very frigid and quite windy, yesterday felt great.

Everything is fine so far. Just a lot of rain. I think the only way I'd be in danger is if I'd try to go somewhere. Thankfully, school is closed. Apparently, the worst is yet to come, so if I'm not on tomorrow, it's probably because I've lost power.

No, it's only a category 1.

The weather is fucking up here in Michigan as a result of the storm.

No, it's only a category 1.
As far as I understand it's really big and slow though (lots of inches of rain on a large area), combined with that its full moon tide and hits one of the most densely populated areas in the world makes it a bad one.
Wind damage probably won't be that exceptional but a lot of people will be getting wet feet.

On a side note, I saw some videos from Venice, it's chaos, it's completely flooded.
It seems the winter is going to be long and cold.

Doesn't help that it's hitting just as a storm system from the midwest is hitting as well.
But yeah I'm PA as well and we're doing fine. Isn't really all that bad out, tbh.

Shit is flying all over the place. I can't even hear myself think. My car is gone and the furniture seems to be leaving as well. I don't know what the hurricane will be like but dealing with this credit report of mine is pure hell.
My tea's gone cold I'm wondering why, I got out of bed at all.................

So far I haven't lost power, which is good. Wind has been picking up along with some rain but I have seen worse weather. The storm in my area is expected to continue all day tomorrow though so we shall see.

I hear the news saying it's the equivalent to a category 3 because of the mixing with the cold air or something like that. Manhattan is practically under water, the subways are flooded, and I just saw a transformer give off a huge explosion. This shit looks insane.

I'm in PA. The electric went out once and it's been raining all day. Apparently it may flood here too, so I might be without power for a day or so in the worst case scenario. In that case I can finally get to reading the books that have been piling up in my room.

We lost power a couple times during the night, and now everything's over and nothing really happened. Still trying to figure out what everyone around here was freaking out about. (I know it got bad elsewhere, but...)

In terms of wind diameter, Typhoon Tip remains the largest at 1380 miles or 2220 km. However, Sandy is the largest Atlantic hurricane on record.
In Nova Scotia, we are receiving light winds and heavy rain.

Just got back to Brooklyn last night, I was stranded in northeastern PA for the storm. Lower Manhattan is fucking creepy. Around 23rd street, it just goes pitch black. It looks like Gotham City.
My neighborhood was alright in terms of flooding and power cause we're not near the water, but a shitload of trees got ripped down and at least two people got killed down the street after a tree fell on them.
My roommates told me they lost power for two hours Tuesday night and gunshots started going off immediately, but there's no widespread violence or anything I've heard about yet.

Fawkes, I am jealous that you got to experience a big city without power I think that would be pretty surreal- especially going from a well lit area into the darkness.

I made it out ok, didn't even loose power. But the beach I spent my childhood at, and where many of my friends still live (about 20 minutes east) has been drastically changed, and got roughed up pretty bad.
There was some flooding in my town, but not in any of my friends' neighborhoods.
