Does anyone know of any African anarchist groups? I know that the Zabalaza, the anarcho-communist organization in South Africa is active, and they do solidarity work with the Abahlali baseMjondolo shack dweller movement there. The Awareness league in Nigeria is an anarcho-syndicalist organization which, at one time in it's history, had several thousand members. But they've faced periods of repression that has made their organization efforts sporadic. I haven't really heard anything from them lately.

The Anti-Capitalist Convergence of the Kenya. At the Swiss International Anarchist Conference there were also anarchists from Zimbabwe, but I don't know the name of their organisation.

Not much to add here though this thread is interesting, there seems to be a CrimethInc chapter down in the southern part of Africa as well.

Africa isn't necessarily the first place that comes to mind when you think of anarchism. Interesting, though.

There's a group called the Libertarian Socialist Movement that was formed in mid-2011, in Egypt.
