You're dissapearence has made this forum something of a depressing echo chamber (None the less this forum remains the best in comparison with our other alternatives). Usually it was a form of intellectual exercise for me to engage in debates and discussions with OIers, and now they're all gone, with the exception of an ancap who spouts the same shit to the point where I'm suspicious as to whether he's a troll or not.

So, OIers, start engaging in discussions more often here, make threads, etc.

Conservatives are explicitly unwelcome per board policy.

But this should give you some pause as you advocate for worldwide communist revolution.

What will you do for entertainment then? Throw darts at targets of dead liberals and capitalist robber barons? There will be no one to debate with. And the central committee will provide for your material needs.

Paradise.

There's always this place that I go to sometimes when I'm feeling a debate.

They might be a bit too uneducated for your tastes though.

Well, we seem to have some new social democrats/liberals in the introductions forum. Maybe you have a whack at them?

You could talk with people off the internet.

I'm a political science major, and I discuss politics with people only because politics exists. In a communist society, there would be no need to discuss politics anymore, and I say good riddance.

I don't know what's more surprising, that anyone is calling for Right-wingers to post more often, or that that person is Rafiq.

Seriously, though, who are we talking about? Maybe Baseball, Trivia7, and two, or three others? Most of the time, a Right-winger makes an account, makes two-or three inflammatory posts, gets Restricted, and disappears, forever. Very few stick around for the long haul. This is the worst kept secret on RevLeft; that OI has, for the most part, been populated by Radicals who simply failed some tenet of the ideological purity test.

I dunno if it's a secret. I also don't know if that's a bad thing. If someone is a sexist or supports imperialist wars then they're a radical only in their own imaginations anyway.

In those cases, yes. However; that isn't always the case. There have been a number of users who have been Restricted, (l'enferme) or even Banned, (RGacky) for comments that aren't antithetical to Socialism, in any sense. My own case is a perfect example; my comments were not implicitly, or explicitly antithetical to Anarchism, the tendency I happen to identify with, or any other branch of Socialism that I am aware of, for that matter. If it was just a question of only non-Radicals being Banned, or Restricted, as you suggest, I wouldn't have such a huge problem with it.

There is absolutely no reason for this forum to exist. Fascists, racists, homophobes, etc, etc, should be banned outright(and they are, right?) immediately. Other non-socialists should be allowed to post on the main forums. Usually they make a few posts and then immediately get bored and disappear. Of those that stick around, all the ones who disrupt the forums will inevitably get banned for trolling, spamming, etc. All the ones that act in a civil fashion will be more exposed to revolutionary anti-capitalist politics because they aren't restricted from the main forums, and this may lead to some of them adopting socialist politics. If they are caged in the OI, all it serves is to radicalize their anti-socialism even more, so I see no point in wasting bandwidth by allowing them to post on RevLeft at all.

Really, when first started lurking on RevLeft, some time before I created this account, I was pretty shocked to find that everyone that disagrees with the BA's line is immediately caged in an "Opposing Ideologies" forum. The first thought that came to my mind was that Stormfront has an "opposing ideologies" forum also.

Banned for trolling, like what happens to most conservatards around here who think they can "defeat" us with Mccarthyist/Fox News talking points without even bothering to find out what Marxism really is.

As someone said, this board is for those who failed some invisible guideline and went against statues quo.

funny that you'd mention stormfront.butthurt, They don't immediately throw you in the brig if you fail to express hatred of non-whites or obeezy. Amazing that a bunch of racist bigots are more open to discussion then revleft. Shows that despite their crazy idea, they are confident that they are right. I've been posting for years there about Korea, it makes them so mad. "gook gook gook" is all the replies I got at first.

Unlike here with the "don't give them a platform to speak guys! It is abuse!"

sf is also much more active than us, What is up with that?

doesn't even make sense

I don't think there are very many non-marxists who actually know what marxism really is. Couple that with the amount of liberals and social democrats who label themselves as socialists and you have such widespread misrepresentation and confusion that it's almost impossible to have an educated debate. My experiences on Youtube, Reddit and every other mainstream website can be summarized like this.

Yeah. Those types would probably overwhelm any revolutionary board through sheer force of numbers and turn it into something resembling a repository of moveon.org chain emails or something.

That's cool. Let them have their free speech. I really don't give a fuck what Stormfront does and I don't think the Revleft admins should either.

I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting that we take our cues from the neo-Nazis. The point is that it is deeply tragic, although not surprising, that the Radical Leftists have created what is, perhaps, the most restrictive, and strictly regulated forum on the internet.

From what I've seen, it is quite clear if you are not a part of the statues quo circle jerk, you are at the mercy of those who are, this is the problem with all forums really, an inevitable class system always forms. With established users giving "rep" power to those who agree with them or amuse them.

It is no surprise this site is so very dead when all are so unwelcoming.

Who is part of this status quo circle jerk, exactly? Am I?

And rep has seriously nothing to do with the 'balance of power' on the forum.
