Wow. Just wow. I love how the writer of this article basically washes Israel's hands clean off blood and wrong doing by simply saying that all this could of been avoided IF The Arabs didn't declare war on Israel a few days after it's "inception". If we are gonna take the wheel of time back to prevent things from getting out of hand than why not say that MAYBE they shouldnt of dump a new country on top of an other one?

Yeah Arabs had a really good fucking reason to declare war. Zionist militias expelled 300,000 Palestinians from their homes before the 1948 war began. If millions of Mexicans are being expelled from Mexico into America's southern states by Brazil, I'd really love to see what our Zionist friends would say America should do about it.

Ok stupid question.. During the 'Mandate of Palestine' when it was mainly Arabs there... were there Jewish people living there still as a minority? Or did they just get dumped there after Israel was established?

The indigenous Jews mostly assimilated into the Arabs living in Palestine, since the Islamic Conquests. But after the 19th century, with the invention of Zionism, Europeans Jews began immigrating to Palestine(a Jewish "return" to Palestine, was out of the question for the Jews before 19th century Zionism - the Jews considered that they weren't allowed to return until the Armageddon or whatever bullshit). In 1947, there were about 650,000 Jews in Palestine, and 1,200,000 Palestinians. The 1947 partition plan allocated 57 percent of the land in Palestine to the Zionists, even though they made up merely 33 percent of the population, and moreover, in the land which was allocated to them, Jews were only 55 percent of the population, 45 percent of the people in the proposed "Jewish State" were Palestinian Arabs and other ethnic/religious groups. Which is why they had to ethnically cleanse Palestine, otherwise they wouldn't be able to enjoy their precious racially pure "Jewish State". Thus the 300,000 Palestinians expelled before the 1948 war even began - and 420,000 more after the war began, according to the UN.

Just remember that every nation state in existence was built upon ethnic cleansing.

That just seems terribly wrong, or a bad use of the words ethnic cleansing and/or nation state. I'm just feeling that there's not that many ethnic cleansings in Norweigan history, for example.

Is Norway a nation-state, though? Are the "Norweigien people" a nation? If they are, and you can't find any, you need only look harder.

Assuming of course the assault on behalf of the Arab bourgeoisie was out of sheer benevolence. The bourgeois states in the middle east could care less about Palestinians, their attack on Israel was a strategic defense of their interests as a class. Let us not sacrifice our Marxist conception of class, or make any exceptions.
Remember Maxime Rodinson's words: that the world of Islam was subject to the same laws and tendencies as the rest of the human race.

"Arab News was the first newspaper to provide a Saudi perspective in English on a wide range of national, regional and global issues through its diverse collection of columnists. This content keeps track of the Kingdom's policies and developments in Saudi society."
lol Saudi hack propaganda news. We should just start posting links to Asharq Al-awsat and Al-arrabiyyeh. Or maybe they can tell us about the evils of Shiism.

I'm saying from a bourgeois-moral standpoint, the Arabs had every reason to declare war on Israel. In reality, of course, they declared war not on Israel, but on Palestine, the Zionists just happened to be at war with the Palestinians too so obviously it came to a clash between them.
