Greetings everyone.
As I am a leftist by heart it could be said that I have come here to exercise my confirmation bia, but it is mainly because I wanted to have more "international" leftists point of view.
As you may have guessed I am a frenchman (under our so called "socialist" government) so please pardon my english and do not hesitate to correct any error I might be making.
If you want to know a little about me, I am of course a huge History fan but I also have great interest in the matter of science (I learned most of my English from "borrowed" scientific american's issues) and psychology.
Hoping to enjoy my stay here.

Welcome, Pelarys! Your English is doing fine; my French is nonexistent.
You mentioned an interest in science, and so you must visit the Sciences and Environment Forum. Unfortunately, though, the forum concentrates on scientific technology and lacks interest in what I term the "new sciences of organization." These sciences that work with organizational relations began with evolution, which Marx and Engels avidly engaged, and continued through the new physics, cosmology, cybernetics, general systems theory, ecology, chaos theory, and systems-complexity science.
Any familiarity with this "new science"? I attempt to introduce these sciences of organization to we who cannot organize, but without much success--so far. My red-green best.

Bonjour! Qu'est-ce que tu pense de Revleft?
I'm from Canada, so it's good to see another French speaker on here! :)
If you ever have any questions or need any help, don't be afraid

Thanks your welcomes guys.
Any familiarity with this "new science"?.
I am indeed familiar with some of those concepts, although my knowledge is probably far from extensive. I can see you might encounter difficulties in introducing them to our community .

Great to have someone from France on here, I don't recall any other French users. Most of us are from the British Isles or North America and there also a great many from the Netherlands. Also a few from Scandinavia and Germany.

Welcome to the forum comrade!
I don't believe we've ever had a French person here before, at least as long as I can remember.

Well the language barrier is a huge one. Our friends in the north are generally not so reluctant to using English on the internet as many Frenchmen who prefers to stay in French internet communities and don't see the appeal of learning/speaking foreign languages. Not necessarily out of "linguistic" pride but the idea does not occur to them and most of what they're looking for is available in "la langue de Molière". Learning a foreign language is mostly a question of investment and a feeling of interest/necessity and I found these thing to be lacking in the case of my "compatriots" and their interaction with the english language. Then again you don't see many anglophones in frenchies boards.
Well... that was way more ranty than I expected : just to say that I think frenchmen have a problem with using english.
