in attempting to defend the law of value by an appeal to empirical data, I ran into the issue that the non-deterministic nature of Marxian economics makes it difficult to test. then I ran into this article (http://21stcenturysocialism.blogspot.com/2008/08/how-physics-is-validating-labour-theory.html) about this book (http://www.scribd.com/doc/24663508/Laws-of-Chaos-A-Probabilistic-Approach-to-Political-Economy-Farjoun-Machover), which attempts to rectify this by applying statistical physical models to economics. apparently it worked.

what do you think of this?
are there any other examples of this technique being used?
