'cos guilt is bad right?

this taylor swift song is a fucking jam. had it been released by some belle & sebastian affiliated twee pop label in the nineties it'd have mad cred, but it's "country pop", and so...

Those songs amongst many others. Especially Hollaback Girl. I was going bananas listening to this song.

Marilyn Manson in general I guess...

I feel no guilt.

What does it mean for something to be a "guilty pleasure"? If it's a pleasure, whence the guilt? Your friends all say it sucks arse? They're probably right.

Anyway, some "Mexican Regional Music" is almost listenable to me; this is a source of guilt, because I know it's rubbish!

For refined folk such as ourselves, "guilty pleasure" means something we like that the unwashed masses also appreciate, those philistines.

Its funny how the people on this site considers enjoying mainstream music sang by females is a guilt pleasure.

nope, the whole point of this thread is that i (we) don't feel guilty about this shit, even tho we're basically (implicitly) told we should. as a straight male the fact i like some taylor swift songs is apparently something i should be embarrassed about -- why? it's good pop music.

A few Rise Againt songs. It's not that they're all that terrible, but I think most of their songs are pretty generic, so it feels weird to listen to the few I like.

No shame in video game soundtracks. I've got a lot of Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu on my ipod. Only thing bad about vg soundtracks is that they're so many fucking songs.

Yea I listen to classical-style music, including a lot of soundtracks, zimmer and Mansel are cool but Bacchanale by Saint Seins is prob my fav right now but that might just be cause I'm playing it in my string ensemble.

Yeah, those guys are actually fucking great, but I feel like if people knew I was walking round rocking the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack they'd look down on me.

These aren't even guilty pleasures but related and awesome:

I've gotten some hate for listening to these in the past but idgaf, I'll slap that on a CD with choking victim on the next track. I was at a bar about a year ago and started singing along with Into the Groove when it came on the stereo, the bartender absolved me of my tab after and told me I was drinking on the house. Fuck yes. She was always cool, would only ring up about half my drinks usually, too bad she got fired eventually.
