Hello, I've had this account for awhile, but I've never really posted anything, I've only been reading. First, a little about me.
I'm a communist that lives in a small mid-western town full of holier-than-thou Christians, ignorant conservatives, and one of my best friends is a Libertarian. I am pretty much alone on my political spectrum, and I'm really hoping that the internet will prove that I'm not alone.
Now, I've told you I'm a communist, but I'm a little uncertain as to what my "-ism" would be, that is to say what breed of Communist I am. But, I see so many divisions, it can get hard to keep track of them all.
I'm a college student, and a history nut. I love politics, theology (but just the study of religion, not the practice), and writing. I'm also a musician, if you really cared.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone on here a little better and hopefully learn more about what I can do to further our cause.

Welcome to RevLeft, Raviolius.
If I were you I'd not be too worried about finding a specific "ism". Take from the altars the fire not the ashes, and all that. Get involved in discussions and debates, as you extend your understanding things will become clearer in terms of what you agree with and what you don't. Good luck, and enjoy yourself.

Raviolius1, Welcome and thanks for an informative introduction. Perhaps sometime you'll clue us in as to the meaning of your tag. I can't determine whether you're a foodie or a raver or ...?
There is much to learn here. Don't neglect the archives. My red-green best.

Oh, ha! Well, I'm a Pastafarian and some friends and I made our own "Church", where I was declared "Pope Raviolius I" as a joke. That's where it comes from. I was actually supposed to include that in the intro, but left it out by accident.

Welcome! I also began my stint here at RevLeft by mostly reading, and I still read far more than I post. About the "ism"s...just keep reading. The cream rises to the top, so to speak, and you'll see past factionalism and immaturity, and find reasonable people who are well versed in their tendency. That's where you'll learn all the differences and similarities. I was WAY too concerned about finding my "ism" so I could feel like I belonged, but belonging to the revolutionary left is the most important thing. As you learn, you'll see what makes sense to you and what sounds like hokum.
Yes, this post is a bit saccharine and fluff, but it's in the Introductions section, so I figure it's cool. And yes I used the word "hokum"...I have a special fondness for "grandma" words and their revival. Call me a vocabularial luddite, if such a thing exists, and if you must.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
And soso17, I found your use of "hokum" odd but not too odd to worry about it. Just sows that you have some intellect.

That is awesome :D (I'm also a Pastafarian, but I don't tend to encounter any others outside the Internet.)
Welcome.

Hi Raviolus1!
Like Blake's Baby said, don't worry to much about your -ism.
Most important is your communism.
Just keep reading!
Anyways, a big welcome to you!
