So Merkel is coming to Greece.... That's soooo nice.... There are going to be some people waiting for her... They are going to give her some of the local specialties in the fac.... aaaammm.... to taste.... like tomatoes I dunno...
Anyway the goverment is trying to build a fortress around the places that Merkel is going to visit/go. Oh and the rallies are forbidden... Oh and they try to keep any rallies away from Merkel...
So what's your opinion on the subject? If we beat the crap out of her is not going to solve anything but even the doctors say: Break something and you will feel better... That was a random example it has nothing to do with my beloved capitala :D

Let's see what will happen today in Athens.
Most of the central roads of Athens are going to closed.
At 13:00 GSEE(Public Workers Syndicalist Organization),ADEDY(Private Workers Syndicalist Organization) and SYRIZA are going to protest in front of the parliament, while PAME at the same time, is going to head to the parliament too, but beginning from Omonoia Square. At 18:00, Independent Greeks will protest in front of the German embassy.
Merkel arrives at the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport at 12:00, she will approach the Presidential Mansion(President's of Democracy, Karolos Papoulias house) at 13:00, after an hour she will go to the Maximou Mansion(Antonis Samaras' house) and finally that ***** will be leaving Greece at 19:00.
7.000 cops are going to guard the whole city centre during Merkel's visit in Greece. There is also going to be a total of 32 Riot Police squads, 100 EKAM(Counter-Terrorist) officers.
Three special firefighting vehicles owned by the Greek Police, are going to ""help"" for an emergency situation(Merkel's ass might be burnt) , 3 helicopters are going to patrol the city center from the sky, and finally 5 water tanks will be located in different areas, in case Merkel's ass gets burnt so they can fight the fire.
Finally, the Greek Government threatens the people that it is going to shut down 3G Internet Connection, so that people would not be updated online what happens in the City Center. However, Greek Anons have given a list of dial-up connection phone numbers that someone could use, if his internet connection is down.

The public reaction to this should be interesting to say the least.

This is something that I don't really understand. These protests, see, they might send a symbolic message or smth like that, but they are, I think, played out. Overdone. Massive street protests in Greece are the norm. Black bloc throwing molotovs at riot cops is routine stuff. It's lost the symbolic shock value it might have once had. The oomph.
Right now, it's kinda the same thing. You can protest against Merkel, you can wreak some damage, but there'll be 7000 cops in the city, helicopters, water cannons... Doesn't mean you won't be able to make Merkel feel a little tense, but...
Here I'm thinking of what the Golden Dawn are doing. Crazy, eh? Those neo-Nazi thugs, you can't learn anything from them. But I think Greek leftists could. Protesting is great and all, but it's not necessarily making the lives of ordinary Greeks any better. Has anything fundamental changed because of the protests?
Golden Dawn, on the other hand, are sneaky. They're handing out potatoes and milk in Syntagma square. They're marketing themselves, and as we can see, the work they put into is paying off.
What do the leftists have to offer right here, right now? The Greek state is weak... Can't you start building your own power structures, solidarity networks that protest less and work for something more? Just wondering aloud is all.
Good luck today.
