Good article. Marx doesn't limit his definition of the working class to commodity producers. He extends it to producers of surplus value in any sphere, e.g., teachers and public transportation, and into the realization sphere, e.g., shop workers, transport, etc. In the end, I think the best definition is one who receives wages enough to reproduce their daily labor power, taking into account cost of living in the region.
