View Full Version : 'Zionists operated the concentration camps' - Free Gaza Movement

A post by the Free Gaza movement claimed Zionists operated the concentration camps and were responsible for murdering millions; the post also linked to a YouTube video claiming the same and that 'Nazi' is an amalgamation of 'National socialist' and 'Zionist'. Unfortunately, the post was deleted and another issued claiming the video was only meant to be shared in private.
According to Wikipedia, the post was made by Greta Berlin, co-founder of the Free Gaza Movement and member of International Solidarity Movement:
She has endorsed the writings of Gilad Atzmon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Atzmon), a controversial Israeli-born British writer and musician who has often been accused of antisemitism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitism), saying his account of "what it means to be Jewish ... makes me awfully glad I was raised a Methodist." [16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greta_Berlin#cite_note-15)
Berlin has been criticized for being anti-Semitic after she posted a speech on her private Facebook account, blaming Jews (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jews) for the Holocaust (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust). According to a JTA article published in the Jewish Journal, "[T]the original tweet, sent Sept. 30 from @freegazaorg, read that `Zionists operated the concentration camps and helped murder millions of innocent Jews.' It linked to a video of Eustace Mullins, a conspiracy theorist, claiming that the word `Nazi' combines the words `National Socialist' and `Zionist.' Mullins died in 2010." [17] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greta_Berlin#cite_note-16) Berlin says she sent the speech by mistake to a wider audience than intended, having only meant it for her personal Facebook account, and apologized for doing so. She had previously posted a link to a 1943 Nazi propaganda film Im Wald von Katyn (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Im_Wald_von_Katyn&action=edit&redlink=1).[/URL]
What think? Do Zionists today know Zionists in the past murdered millions in the Holocaust and 'Nazi' owes its name to Zionism?

It was a blunder. I have no idea what this person thinks, and the Palestinian people and the Palestine solidarity movement dont need these nonsense.
Apology regarding TWEET
WRITTEN BY GRETA BERLIN | 04 OCTOBER 2012
POSTED IN NEWS
ShareThis
A TWEET from the Free Gaza TWITTER account was posted several days ago that had a link to a lecture titled, "Zionists Ran the Holocaust and the Concentration Camps." This TWEET did not come from Free Gaza, and does not represent FG's position in any way whatsoever; in fact we condemn its content. It came from Greta's private Facebook page and was shared with a group of people who were discussing propaganda and racism, and this link was an example of the terrible propaganda that could be spewed on websites. For some reason, Facebook connected our Free Gaza account to her personal Facebook account, and the link was posted.
Greta has added, "I apologize that I did not watch the video before hitting SHARE on Facebook. I was in a rush to get to a book event and simply reposted. The fault is completely mine. Free Gaza had nothing to do with the post at all. "
The Free Gaza movement is a human rights group that is an expression of citizen nonviolent, direct action, confronting Israel's ongoing abuses of Palestinian human and political rights and will continue to challenge Israel's illegal siege on Gaza. In the future, we will work to ensure that material posted from our account relates only to FGM's activities, including Gaza's Ark.
Free Gaza had nothing to do with the post and apologizes unreservedly for the post and its content.

I apologize that I did not watch the video before hitting SHARE on Facebook
I've never posted/shared a video I didn't watch beforehand. Thank God I'm not Greta Berlin (I was going to say thank God I'm not Methodist but seemed quite bigoted). :)

lmfao, Conspiracy theorists can be so fucking stupid sometimes and Atzman is pretty much one of the few cases of an actual self-hating jew in the literal sense of the word, not the 'aaaaah chomsky criticized Israel he's the next hitler' kind that zionist cry about.

The following letter was sent from a number of prominent activists in the BDS movement condemning Atzmon as an an anti-Semite, with no place in our movement. Racists of any sort are unwelcome in the struggle for Palestinian rights.
The Racism and Antisemitism of Gilad Atzmon
– March 13, 2012
For many years now, Gilad Atzmon, a musician born in Israel and
currently living in the United Kingdom, has taken on the
self-appointed task of defining for the Palestinian movement the
nature of our struggle, and the philosophy underpinning it. He has
done so through his various blogs and Internet outlets, in speeches,
and in articles. He is currently on tour in the United States
promoting his most recent book, entitled, ‘The Wandering Who.’
With this letter, we call for the disavowal of Atzmon by fellow
Palestinian organizers, as well as Palestine solidarity activists, and
allies of the Palestinian people, and note the dangers of supporting
Atzmon’s political work and writings and providing any platforms for
their dissemination. We do so as Palestinian organizers and activists,
working across continents, campaigns, and ideological positions.
Atzmon’s politics rest on one main overriding assertion that serves as
springboard for vicious attacks on anyone who disagrees with his
obsession with “Jewishness”. He claims that all Jewish politics is
“tribal,” and essentially, Zionist. Zionism, to Atzmon, is not a
settler-colonial project, but a trans-historical “Jewish” one, part
and parcel of defining one’s self as a Jew. Therefore, he claims, one
cannot self-describe as a Jew and also do work in solidarity with
Palestine, because to identify as a Jew is to be a Zionist. We could
not disagree more. Indeed, we believe Atzmon’s argument is itself
Zionist because it agrees with the ideology of Zionism and Israel that
the only way to be a Jew is to be a Zionist.
Palestinians have faced two centuries of orientalist, colonialist and
imperialist domination of our native lands. And so as Palestinians, we
see such language as immoral and completely outside the core
foundations of humanism, equality and justice, on which the struggle
for Palestine and its national movement rests. As countless
Palestinian activists and organizers, their parties, associations and
campaigns, have attested throughout the last century, our struggle was
never, and will never be, with Jews, or Judaism, no matter how much
Zionism insists that our enemies are the Jews. Rather, our struggle is
with Zionism, a modern European settler colonial movement, similar to
movements in many other parts of the world that aim to displace
indigenous people and build new European societies on their lands.
We reaffirm that there is no room in this historic and foundational
analysis of our struggle for any attacks on our Jewish allies, Jews,
or Judaism; nor denying the Holocaust; nor allying in any way shape or
form with any conspiracy theories, far-right, orientalist, and racist
arguments, associations and entities. Challenging Zionism, including
the illegitimate power of institutions that support the oppression of
Palestinians, and the illegitimate use of Jewish identities to protect
and legitimize oppression, must never become an attack on Jewish
identities, nor the demeaning and denial of Jewish histories in all
their diversity.
Indeed, we regard any attempt to link and adopt antisemitic or racist
language, even if it is within a self-described anti-imperialist and
anti-Zionist politics, as reaffirming and legitimizing Zionism. In
addition to its immorality, this language obscures the fundamental
role of imperialism and colonialism in destroying our homeland,
expelling its people, and sustaining the systems and ideologies of
oppression, apartheid and occupation. It leaves one squarely outside
true solidarity with Palestine and its people.
The goal of the Palestinian people has always been clear: self
determination. And we can only exercise that inalienable right through
liberation, the return of our refugees (the absolute majority of our
people) and achieving equal rights to all through decolonization. As
such, we stand with all and any movements that call for justice, human
dignity, equality, and social, economic, cultural and political
rights. We will never compromise the principles and spirit of our
liberation struggle. We will not allow a false sense of expediency to
drive us into alliance with those who attack, malign, or otherwise
attempt to target our political fraternity with all liberation
struggles and movements for justice.
As Palestinians, it is our collective responsibility, whether we are
in Palestine or in exile, to assert our guidance of our grassroots
liberation struggle. We must protect the integrity of our movement,
and to do so we must continue to remain vigilant that those for whom
we provide platforms actually speak to its principles.
When the Palestinian people call for self-determination and
decolonization of our homeland, we do so in the promise and hope of a
community founded on justice, where all are free, all are equal and
all are welcome.
Until liberation and return.

I thought the usual myth among anti-zionist Arabs is that Zionists orchestrated the rise of Hitler and the Holocaust in order to create an excuse for "land-grabbing" in Palestine(and eventually, all of "Greater Israel" - Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, etc). But now the Zionists operated the concentration camps too? Did Zionists mow down the Jewish inhabitants of the Ukraine with machine guns too? The more you know!
Also, note that to Muslim Arabs, Jews are not an ethnic group(or a group of ethnic groups, like Ashkenzi Jews, Sephardic Jews, etc) but only a religion. Though I suspect that they say such things only to pretend their racism is merely (!) religious discrimination/hatred/whatever.

I'm sure they're completely unaware of this, like the rest of (semi) sane society. And why is this "revelation" only coming out now?

Iraqis, Jordanians, Syrians, Lebanese, Libyans, Egyptians, etc, etc, though I don't think I know any Saudi Arabians, Yemenese, etc, Arabs. As a refugee in Europe on gets to befriend all sorts of people comrade. Perhaps if you cared to talk to Arabs maybe you'd know what I said too. They make for good company though Arabic profanity is not very original.

It's too bad the posting was deleted. How are Zionists to know it was Zionists who operated the concentration camps during WWII and murdered millions of Jews?
Not to mention 'NaZi' being an amalgamation of national socialist and zionism...

"Nazi" is short for Nationalsozialismus, which means National Socialism in German.

Yes, I've heard about similar crackpot conspiracy theories (usually started by racists), saying that Jews orchestrated the Holocaust so they could have the state of Israel back.
