I'm currently trying out for a school team, soccer, and well, as I was talking to a friend and viewing this board, it occured to me, what sports did Che play, if any at all? Could anyone fill me up on this?

I asked this exact same question when I first came to Che-Lives. Wait a second, I'll find the thread.

:D. Damn, Che was quite the sportsmen. I play golf during the summer and soccer all year long. Rugby? Ouch, I played that once and gave it up after a 200 lbs man talked me and I blanked out lol.

Yeah, I'm not good at many of Che's favorite sports. I'm better at Fidel's sport... Baseball. :castro:

For what I've read, he liked many sports, but baseball was his favourite.

I thought Che's major sport was rugby...

In the books I've read, Che was taught baseball for the first time in the Sierra Maestra by the Cubans and Fidel. He never loved it, but he ended up playing a lot, as none of the Cubans could play rugby or soccer (football to most of you).

While growing up in South america before going off to Guatemala and Mexico, Che states being an avid Rugby player. Of course, he was always very carefull so not to have asthma atttacks. But considering how much physical work Che did, its a suprise he didnt have more attacks. After this however, I havent encountered much more than Chess. But im sure he was involved with others.

Fuck, where do you people come from...

Well, if that matters to you, Che tried out for Rugby , and he played soccer a lilltle often, But couldn't play a lot because of his shitty lungs,

But, you know, of all the things you could ask about el commandante, you ask what sports he played, why the fuck should you bother.. you dumb fuckheads, Aren't there supposed to be much important things to ask....

Fuckheads.

Hey asshole, check your attitude. Simply because you didn't think it was an important question doesn't justify you insulting the guy. Any bit of information is valuable, so lay off.

On the contrary, I get to call you an asshole because you people are so full of shit... Let me guess, You saw che on a Tshirt and found out his name and checked him out...

I stand by my previous statement, Fuck all you who are fucking tshirt commies.

This is precisely how I was turned onto communism. Although I didn't just see it on a t-shirt, but I knew of him because he was on t-shirts, and then I looked into him, became engrossed in his works, and started reading some of the things he read.

Wow eagle. From the way you write it would seem as if you are well aware of several nuances and subtleties inherent within Che’s character and history that many of us simpletons could not possibly be aware of no matter how hard we try because of our ailment of fuckheaditosis. It is a horrid disease that perpetuates our ignorance and lack of intelligence; hence why we all actively participate in this shoddy forum intended to mold and strengthen our beliefs through discussion. We all should stop our silly farce now and begin to immolate eagle in all of his infinite wisdom and intelligence because he obviously knows everything that there is to know about Che and all that is left. And the way in which you poignantly express yourself by putting on display your powerful command and authority over the English language through the use of a very nearly sesquipedalian level of disarming vocabulary and sentence structure only adds further attributes to this conclusion that I am drawing. In light of this, if you could somehow find it within yourself to enlighten all of on the topic at hand with your idiosyncratic intelligence on the subject, it would be much appreciated. Otherwise, piss off wanker.

I see my mistake...

Apologies. I did not mean to be so rude. I guess we all are learning here, it is just that I felt the question of Che's sports side is not much interesting and would not be worth of much bother....

I see my mistake, I ask for forgiveness:(

it is all good eagle. everyone is welcome to lash out every now and then as long as they realize in retrospect the silliness of it.

che was not as much of a fan of golf as fidel was. he more or less just played with fidel because fidel enjoyed it so much.

Don't worry about it Eagle. I learned of Che when I bought a shirt of him years ago. We all find the true path by one way or another. But I really hate the idea of capitalist companies making millions of the face of such a great hero to the communist cause. I think that this stunt by such companies is backfiring because some comrades like us find the road to the communist ideal through a tool of capitalism. It's ironic.

Finally, someone who sees things the way I do.

I am not against the fact that people out there get to know Che because they see him in a t-shirt. But against the fact that the GAP and others capitalize on his nice features and leave it at that... and ofcourse, they make money...$$$$$$$

as i have mentioned before, the concept of oppressive companies making money off of "the most complete human being of our time" makes me vomit a little in my mouth. i recently asked an aquaintance of mine that had a shirt with his immortal face adorning it who he was, and he replied that he thought he was a rock star. it is disgusting. but then again, as has already been stated, many people become aware and enlightened on the man and his teachings from these disgusting means; so i suppose that it is not all bad. if the depraved practice is also able to promote enlightment along with its perversion, then maybe it is a necessary sacrifice to allow.

I guess that we should call this type of situation as bitter/sweet because of the circumstances in which it is based. I think that it's worth it and a necessary also. :)

You can see that Alberto wanted Che's image in legite items to spread Che's words and works to those ignorant of who he really is.
