I always see people say that communism is a global thing. Why does it have to be global?

Because if you have capitalist countries, then you have capitalist ruling classes in them, and to fight their centralized states, you need a centralized state as well.

It has to do with the fact that capitalism is global, and effectively the working class is global. Communism is "the doctrine of the liberation of the proletariat", that is the working class as a whole - as an international class. Let's imagine the liberation of one nation's working class: that state would still be intertwined in the world market, and would therefore be forced to uphold the capitalist mode of production. Not only that, if a proletarian uprising in one country is not followed by the rest of the world, or at least large parts of the world/nearby regions, said country would soon be isolated and lose its revolutionary driving force, so to speak.

And not only that, but there would be geopolitical factors too. A lone Communist state in a capitalist world would probably not last very long. It would be only a matter of time before the advanced capitalist nations invaded and conquered said Communist state, and exploited and gutted it.

I already said that, though. But yes.

Communism needs to be global because:
Every product or every resource can not be found in one country. Like you cant find (enough) gas, food, coal to power the whole country. The problem with so called "communistic" countries were that they were automatic isolated by capitalists ones,so their economy just broke, they could not sell their products to other countries, this is why (if you ask me) stalin made an agreement with hitler to sell army supplies to germany before world war 2 (that sick mustache bastard) but this was just an off topic add on.
Anyway communism needs to be global if we want it to work,no further questions needed. :)

Ant!Fa, I don't agree. There are some regions that, with modern technologies and with automation fully implemented wherever possible, along with waste reduction, could survive sustainably on their own as they certainly have enough resources. North America & Australia for example. In both cases we're talking about a continental union (well, Australia is already a continental union, but North America isn't yet).
I think the main problem though is that I think it would be likely that capitalist countries would do everything in their power to destroy such a region. Doesn't mean we can't try, of course. I don't think it needs to be global at all, it's just that the rest of the world being capitalist would be a major threat.
