What do you guys think of this martyr for socialism being brought in India? He was hung when he was 23, and always believed Gandhi's idea of independence differed, because there were so many deaths if non-violence was to be applied verses the British Empire.

He was also atheist, and was happy to die for his cause. He stated it was important to die for whatever one stands for, and do so with open arms...

He reminds me alot of Che Guevara. Y'know, dying for his cause. I kinda admire the guy for that...

(Before he was hung, he was reading Lenin in his holding cell.)

Anyone can pick up the movie 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh', its in Hindi, but has english subtitles.

what do you guys think?

That grenade he threw to scare the British (not to kill people, it was a symbolic act) made the imperialists scared, that was pretty cool... apart from that I like his hat and moustache, that's about all I know about the guy apart from that he wrote that pretty good article called 'Why I am an Atheist'

yeah, the movie's really good as well. It also has Gandhi in it in certain sections, portrayed as someone not caring too much about what the youth wants, but where non-violence should lead the country...never thought a movie would portray Gandhi as the 'opposition', or something that needed to be suppressed in a sense...
