Today, for the first time in months, the little girls of holy Cross primary were allowed to walk to school without people shouting abuse at them, spitting at them or throwing missiles at them. I heard one girl being interviewed on the radio and it was heartwarming to hear her talk about how happy she was that no one was calling her names on her way in to school anymore.
Its not often I have said this, but well done David Trimble.

i'm really happy to hear that news. its one thing to argue etc with other adults but when innocent children become involved it is a totally different story

Good to hear that it has stopped (at least for the moment) but the issue is that it ever happened at all - those children will have to live with the effects of that abuse forever - for some the effects may be negligible but for others, who knows? At the very least, how will these children reconcile lessons in respecting others after having been treated in this manner? Those that participated are devoid of any ethical substance, humanity or basic decency and should be prosecuted - at least to demonstrate to the children that such behaviour is not acceptable, even if those involved learn nothing from being called to account.

Oh Nickademus, I can certainly empathise!! To get through I found fear (of failing) and inertia particularly useful. But there were certain subjects that were so mind-numbingly boring that I was in danger of automatic sedation from just going near the text books eg administrative law. How far along are you? Got any particularly annoying problems? Perhaps I can give you some more specific advice...
