Is she the missing link - since she seems to have features of both ape (brain size, hairy features) and human (upright posture)?

The "missing link" is a myth.

Australopithecus afarensis is an ancestor to humans but not a common ancestor of humans and chimps. Our lineages diverged a while before that. Bipedalism developed before our brains grew. which is why she looked like a human-chimp hybrid, although A. afarensis likely spent at least some time in the trees, maybe sleeping or something. Not all of the australopithecines led to humans, just the afarensis/garhi lineage. Some australopithecines (boisei if I remember right) existed at the same time as early humans, Homo habilis et al, they just died out eventually. And, yeah, like Ol' Bantep said, there's no such thing as a 'missing link', although I haven't watched that video so I can't comment on it.
[edit]
Just watched it, yeah he said the same shit I did.
