I'm not too familiar with her, but I understand she is opposed to the idea of a vanguard party. I also have an understanding, somewhat, of her/CLR James' theory of State Capitalism in Russia.

Basically, I want to know more about her without having to scour her archive.

If any comrades have knowledge, critiques, etc. on her I'd like to hear them.

News and Letters Committees hands out newspapers and tries to butt into every struggle just like all those other Leninist organizations that support the idea of a vanguard party. If Dunayevskaya was opposed to a vanguard party, the practice of the organization she founded does little to uphold that.

On the plus side, Dunayevskaya pretty much called the emergence of the Black Panthers by about 3 years in an essay "Black Masses as Vanguard".

Black Masses as Vanguard is short but excellent. Her work Marxism and Freedom is also very good as is her work on Rosa Luxemberg although she has too much of a soft spot for Lenin for my tastes.

Paul Mattick's critique is the only one I'm familiar with: http://www.marxists.org/archive/mattick-paul/1958/dunayevskaya.htm

If I recall correctly, Althusser was not a fan but I have not fully studied his critique.
