Greetings comrades from a newbie communist. I am a student, pretty member of the revolutionary left.
I always had sympathy to the left, but as i grew up in very nationalistic enviroment and had very little knowledge of politics, i considered myself liberal (which itself was pretty revolutionary for the time), but as i grew older i realised that although i share liberal views on some issues with liberals (like homosexuality, racism, nationalism) my views differ on economy issues. So, i turned a little left, today i would say reformist views ("healthy mix of capitalism and socialism"), but that didnt last long as i came to college where i read a book about anarchism, so i became an anarchist.
But that either didnt last long too, as i felt that anarchism was to idealistic (no offence to anarchists), and then- I read some Marx, it was some collection of Marx&Engels texts named Historic Materialism (thank god for former SFRJ). Boy, that was biggest discovery of my life, he was brilliant man, and, what is he too rarely praised for, was a great writer, and especially his brilliant sense of humor. After reading German Ideology i became a marxist.
So past maybe one year i try to read as much i can from Marx and Engels, and after that maybe other great marxist.
Few months ago i found this site and started reading, and i found a lot of great information (and much more boring tendency battles, boring stalinist cult) so i decided to register. And here i am.
I dont consider myself member of any (of too many) communist tendency, but i most agree with comrades that are "Left communist" (although i dont really know what is left communism so if anybody can direct me to some topic or texts i would be grateful), and "revolutionary marxists", and some "marxist-leninists" (non stalinist, no offense again).
I am eager for knowledge, so i will probably read more than write.
Huh, this was long.
And sorry for any mistakes, i didnt used to write in english.
Cheers:thumbup1:
