They're counterrevolutionary, as is internet politics. I cannot express my insufferable hatred for those bastards, those "FREE BRADLEY MANNING/ASSANGE" classical liberal kiddos who get hardons from even the slightest notion that we're living in some orwellian, dystopian society and that they're fucking "TAKN BACK OIR LIBARTIES". Fuck. Can't stand those cheap romanticists who've watched shit movies like v for vendetta and of nowhere are apparently enlightened as a result.
Also anonymous can rarely be somewhat humorous at times but they're fucking annoying as hell. Guy fawkes was a piece of shit and the nlonly reason someone would wear that mask, is if they saw v for vendetta and jizzed.
also someone told the clsss they dislike v for vendetta because its a "bolshevik movie". v for vendetta is bullshit petite bourgeois romanticism and even perhaps loose conservativism and ethicsl absolutist in nature. Its not even comparable to thr ravachol bombings or whatever.

Guy Fawkes was a piece of shit stooge of the Catholic Church.
I tried explaining this to someone I work with who has recently fallen in love with "anonymous" and guy fawkes masks. His response was "Nah, they've taken it and made it something else entirely! It's a rebellion! It's like in that movie V for Vendetta!".
After that, I decided this wasn't a discussion worth having and went back to cutting tomatoes while daydreaming about going fishing on some isolated lake and never coming back.

Well people really have taken it and made it into something entirely different haven't they? I mean I'm sure people who have them aren't piece of shit stooges for the Catholic Church amirite? The image has been stolen from what it originally was from, Guy Fawkes, and is now associated with a guy who anonymously blew up a place of authority or something along those lines.

How does owning a Samsung Galaxy make one petit-bourgeois? Surely someone of your political experience would know how stupid that statement is.

Agreed. Not a huge fan of the masks and the people that wear them but it obvious that it's nothing to do with Guy Fawkes specifically, supporting Catholic insurrection or whatever...symbols can have alternate meanings..(resists any urge to open up a debate about political symbols but it always goes to the crooked cross and gets ugly).
But yeah, the OP has a point I suppose but I personally don't have that much hatred for the people involved, indifference and annoyance at most.

I didn't say it made one petit-bourgeois, I said he wrote his comments using a Samsung. Sometimes I think reading should be a requirement for posting on here.

As smartphones are inherently romanticist and liberalist, no? Actually, on second thought, I think I'll just throw my phone away, because I'm being hypocritical as a communist since technology is counterrevolutionary.

Aye, I did. What of it? Did you not write that little snip from your computer? Or do your thoughts magically transcend through thin air and express themselves via text on this site?

In that case we should start taking right wing symbols and imagery and make them ours.

Can't we just laugh at his comment without over thinking it? I see the irony in the situation but the fact that any of you are reading this means you are either a hypocrite or you've come to terms with the fact that you own (or have some kind of access to) an expensive piece of technology and that you can move past that and can focus on more important things.
I always figured trying to be "prolier than thou" was this dead thing that was no longer a problem around here.

I thought the main point of using that mask in the comic was that it's a mass-produced item. The way the historical person was referenced in the movie right in the beginning didn't make sense to me. The point of using that mask in reality is of course again that it's a mass-produced item, and referencing that watered-down movie. When I see the mask the associations that flash up in my head are first of all 4chan and skinhead Natalie Portman and a lot of other important stuff before that historical shit.
