Good afternoon, comrades.
I'm Cliff, a twenty-something Marxist currently living in Kentucky, US. I have read RevLeft from afar for the past few months and appreciate the sense of community and willingness I've seen to help new-comers learn (as long as they first attempt to help themselves, at least).
Growing up in a semi-political, socially conservative, middle-class household, I always held opposing views, even as an adolescent. Originally I just found myself as a liberal democrat and then became more interested in Democratic Socialism (reading Harrington) in my late teens. I still believed in the systemI believed that incremental reform through the current system in the US was possible.
Studying more over the years (not that I don't still have a lot to learn; I do), I now believe the only way to a fair, just society is through revolution, not reform. Capitalism has enslaved us just as it was intended. I look forward to learning more through the resources and discussion on RevLeft and becoming active.
I am looking to become more politically active and am also looking to finding some local comrades in KY. Feel free to PM me if you are one.
