Almost a century after his death, the name of Vladimir Lenin still inspires strong feelings for millions around the globe. As a revolutionary leader, he helped transform the despotic and brutal Russian empire into the world’s first socialist democracy. As a theorist he challenged Marxist orthodoxy in such profound ways that many revolutionaries today call themselves Marxist-Leninists to acknowledge his contributions. Who was this man and what ideas did he contribute to revolutionary thought?

Why is the CPUSA putting out all this? Trying, in vain, to come off as communist? Or are there two very divergent factions within the CPUSA, the reformist leadership and those that run the Party press? Whatever it is it makes them look more of a mess than they already are.

This is a typical habit of opportunists, paying lip service to prominent figures in socialist history while revising the core tenets of their theoretical contributions out of existence.

My understanding is there is indeed a faction with in the CP-USA that are trying to reclaim the party. A couple months ago someone who's a member of the party made a very long post about it.

My understanding is that there are many clubs throughout the country that do not adhere to the main party line and, in fact, adhere to sound Marxist-Leninist theory. The trouble is that the main party apparatus is going about harassing members of these clubs and shutting them down.

Lenin is easier than Marx, take a gander at 'What is to be Done'. Read it fully, and take notes on it. Put some questions and write down some answers, come back here and post those answers.
Then those whom are more experienced with Leninism as a theoretical political concept and a practical means of organizing will help you. That's my advice, then use this to aid yourself in real situations.
Do some 'salting' (unionizing), surround yourself with Proletarian elements.

Not to be off topic, and I am,but it seems that so much of the conflict within the party is centered around who will take control of the various real estate holdings that the Party owns in and around NYC and L.A. I could be wrong. They have been so eff'd up for so long that I have to question the motives of those still in the Party who wish to "reclaim" it.
