Good history of Soviet space program?

A few weeks ago, on a whim, I purchased a dramatized series based on A Man on the Moon called From the Earth to the Moon, and since then I've been reading book after book on the Apollo program. I'd like to read about the Russian side. I'm interested in both the human program, and the launch of probes to Venus, Mars, etc.

The BBC's miniseries Space Race is a good start, also the documentary Tank on the Moon is a good documentary about the Lunokhod

Sounds fantastic -- I'm currently watching the BBC's documentary series "The Planets", and they gave Russia a fair bit of coverage earlier
