I'm sure there is a cruel joke about anti-imperialist solutions for stalinist problems to be found in here somewhere; http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSL6E8JU6IC20120830?irpc=932

The cynic in me says that the only reason the FSA aren't pulling shit like this is because they aren't as well equipped.

Why is it psycho that you seem never to condemn the atrocities carried out by the so called rebels who you seem to glorify so much? Why do you always seek to attack just assad all the time for his abuses. The rebels are the worst perpetrators in this tragic war, a war i remind you that benefits only US and European imperialism and their saudi and qatari mates. Wake the fuck up man this aint no workers revolution seeking to impose a workers regime! If only it was

Nope... but I'm not saying the assad regime are either, although I must say that when forced to chose between the hardly organised and under armed deserter guys organising the breadlines and the full might of the army guys bombing them I'm mildly more sympathetic to the former... must be silly anarchist idealism I guess...

The ineptitude of the Syrian army should never be underestimated, even when they are playing the role of good guys in Anti-Imperialist Savior, Part II.

yeah actually.
i mean assad is a butcher no doubt (just like gaddaffi was) but if you think the Free Syrian Army isn't, then I guess I'll just have to point you to Libya which is not a giant anti-black pogrom to show you how dumb it is to think CIA backed 'rebels' are someone to cheer on. I mean like I figured you'd see the mistake after Libya but i guess not
EDIT: Actually most anarchists seem to have their heads on straight with this one. This is p. much just 'idealism' all your own.

That's basically it though.
They're making do, though. There was a video on youtube of some FSA dudes beheading someone with what looked like a pocket knife

I really don't believe the hype. Syrian artillery is good enough. This is a map of artillery strikes in and around the city of Anadan near Aleppo, demonstrating near clinical precision in avoiding the most densely populated areas.
You should note that this map is from Amnesty International, which has no interest in defending the Syrian government.

Now that the facts are taken care of, you can choose what to believe.
1) The Syrian Army fully intends to destroy Aleppo to beat them into submission by racking up civilian deaths.
2) The FSA has occupied bakeries, just like how they have occupied schools and hospitals, making them military targets in the government's eyes.
Either way, those rounds probably landed where they were supposed to, and this war has yet to become truly serious.

fwiw this is literally exactly what people say when they excuse Americans and Israelis targeting civilians.

Is this like when Israel justifies attacking civilian targets by claiming militants were in the area, but from a super badass anti-imperialist position?
We had to bomb the bakery to save it.

Well, yeah. It wasn't like I was endorsing one position or the other. Otherwise I wouldn't have presented a choice.
Just realize that this war could be a lot worse.

whell if you followed my posts/threads on the subject even a litle bit instead of making assumptions or going by the foaming at the mouth anti-imp strawmans leveled against me you would know that while i have been very sympathetic towards the LCC's, even donated some money towards them i from the start been and remained highly critical of most of the FSA and the whole of the STNC and such.
i also quite like how no'one dared to to engage this article i posted already two weeks ago: http://www.revleft.com/vb/syria-imperialism-and-t174301/index.html
while maybe not one on one my thoughts on the syrian uprising it comes pretty damn close....

Anyone really wanting to know whats going on i Syria should read my posts on Syria especially the ones about charlie skeltons article in the guardian, seamus milne article on syria and Robert fisk's despatches from syria. I repeat this Free syria army and syrian free army are CIA funded trained and armed by a combination of imperialist countries and saudi and qatari despots. No socialist or communist can support these killers. It is true that at the beginning of this uprising there was a genuine movement agaist assad but that movement is at best sidelined or taken over and manipulated. If these Local co-ordination commitees are genuine they should break from these bandits and do it quickly.
